He had a few too many drinks 4 days before a game. Admittedly I never got paid thousands of pounds, but I played in a team that won a semi pro five a side tournament having gone out the night before until 3am. And I was a lot older than Vlad is.

You got paid to play 5-a-side?

It's not the end of the world, but it's not overly impressive either. People say that it was 4 nights till our next game, but with a big game coming up and competition returning from injuries i'd have thought maximum effort would be wanted in training both physically and mentally. And the fact is that alcohol can effect sleep cycles and therefore memory and retention, muscle recovery, dehydration for more than just a day after drinking...

Thing is that people who are very fit get super pissed on just a glass or 2, don't they?

I mean ... I wouldn't know obviously, I have never been fit in my life, but it's what i hear! ;)

Not good but 48 hours for the alcohol effect to leave the system so I guess Tim knows what Tim's doing allowing players to do what they want on an unexpected weekend off mid season.

Tim 's style no doubt so we shall see how it goes here on in.

Vlads drunkenness misread as laddishness

If this had been one of the scapegoat circuit (Walker etc etc) SC would be up in arms.

Do you really think there won't be a storming of Dracula's castle if Vlad misplaces a couple of passes, some of the match thread lot will have garlic, stakes, crucifixes and good old trusty pitchforks at the ready.

Sherwood on Chiriches: "He was unsteady on his legs by the looks of it. It must have been windy over there!"

Sherwood is such a geezer!

We forgive him for that and move on. Show us quality performances on the pitch. Start with a great performance vs Man City.
