The difference between having Paulinho in the middle compared to someone like Modric was clear as day in that game. We look a better team with Dembele in there instead but again he isn't the answer either.

It's no coincidence AVB and Sherwood can't create a team to control a game because we don't have the key player able to do it. Beginning to feel sorry for AVB actually because I think he maybe could have done some stuff if Levy had actually got him Moutinho.

Hopefully in the summer with Broomfield back we'll have people who understand that we need balance. It's not all the players fault or the fact we bought a lot of them - it's that we didn't buy the right type of players. We simply have zero balance. Redknapp saw this before, mended it and we became hugely successful. We need someone with the same impact again, and this is definitely on Levy's shoulders. The right appointments throughout the club from here until next season are absolutely key.
Where was Benfica's Modric? They played two holders in the middle who weren't really expansive passers, but they had a plan and effective, well drilled pattern of play. Yes, it's great to have a Modric but there are other ways of playing if you are well coached.

What I've learnt from this season is that u can spend all the money u like on players but if you've got the got wrong coaching staff and manager you're gonna get sweet f.all done. Put 11 Ronaldo's on the pitch and they'll get u nowhere without direction. I don't think anyone thought Sherwood is the next main man but I certainly was more positive than I was under AVB. We get our hopes up so high every season!

10 Ronaldo's and one Aaron Lennon don't you mean? Can't leave the black Messi out

When the new man comes in after the WC, we need a LB & a RB while selling Walker and Rose, We need a CB whos an upgrade on Daws and Remy would be nice.. With the right man in charge i think we are good in other areas for now.

Walker is such a poor player and his decision making is terrible, its almost criminal how he's gone backwards after 'that one year'. Rose is the same although he does get to the byline and gets a cross in now and again. Kaboul is a better option alongside Verts but i dont trust that he will be able to give us a season without long injuries and I think Verts just dispares at Dawson sometimes.

I think the Bale money could have been spent so much wiser.

Does anyone know if we have a recall option on Ekotto? if so why have we not?

I remember everyone on here getting themselves very excited about how much money we were going to spend and how many new players we were going to bring in. I was very worried that too many new players would be a disaster but I was slapped down like some sort of party pooper.

I think the quality is our biggest problem rather than the quantity.

Well that tirade at the players seemed only to fire up those you don't really want more fired up. (Sandro & Walker)

That's the problem with an aimless volley at the players collectively.

Poor, one maybe two games left to save the season...

It was terrible keeping.
You obviously played at a higher level than me between the sticks sir as I'd have been happy with what I done but ripped the arse out of my defence for not picking up the second ball!
Its basics of defending, anticipation of the second ball and as a unit defensively we don't seem to have a clue unfortunately

Not much you can say after that 'performance' TBH, cant even be constructive about it. "hoof it to the big man!" FFS, that was dire.

Their entire attacking unit has pace and the ability to take players on - that doesn't require a tempo controller with expansive passing to the same degree.

Our players rely on through balls to be more effective and someone to release them before the opposition set. Without it, our players won't take them on or bully their way through. We need a passer because of the style of our team - it's disjointed.

Again, you have to look higher than the coaching staff to who is actually making these decisions. How much longer are we going to be going through these failed appointments?

but he tracks back.

i feel so sorry for loris, knowing something crazy is bound to happen.

Disgrace is on the order, if all remains the same just skip Sunday afternoon game as something thunderous will be on display.

If we don't lose any players this summer this is how we can line up next season

Imagine how good that would be to watch. The only reason we haven't been able to see it this season is because of wank management.

Get the back four playing with each other regularly. Capoue to rotate in for Sandro. Dembele and Paulinho to rotate in for Holtby and Eriksen. Chadli and Lennon covering Townsend and Lamela. Soldado rotating with Adebayor.

Play that formation all the way through the end of this season and the coming preseason. Every player know his role and where his team mate is in front of him and behind him. Get the wide forwards actually supporting and making runs off the striker. Intelligent, creative midfielders taking turns to drop short and ping the ball about all over the park. Sandro bossing the fuck out of the space in front of a defence who play in their best positions and know each others game inside out.

So fucking SIMPLE you dumb fucks AVB and T.S

Not far off what I would want (on the assumption that Vertonghen's off):

I think all we have to do is to buy four new defenders, two wingers, one striker and a new coach and we might see a created chance.

BAE used to be the target of a lot of criticism when he was in the first team.
