This thread has been another embarrassment to Spurs fandom. We're in a bad run at the moment, but the affliction we've had for most of the season, with the exception of Sherwood's first 10 games or so, is a lack of attacking quality. But of course, you get morons on here who (a) say it's our defense that needs the overhaul and (b) just want to have a pop at Sherwood.

If AVB had overseen that performance, we'd have the usual suspects on here saying it wasn't great to watch, but they can really feel he's building something, there's an ethos and a plan at work, and it's just a matter of time before he turns his attention to the attack. Of course, it was all bullshit. We haven't been able to attack properly since Harry left, and it's going to take a summer or more before we remedy that.

I agree with a lot of what you say here, and there are too many people that haven't given Sherwood a fair shake of the stick, but today was different. It was our make or break game. The big one. Win and we're back in the hunt, lose and it's over. Full stop. Yes, we played better than other recent performances, and you could see more passion and belief, but the substitutions stifled us at the most important times in the game. With 10 minutes to go, 1-0 down, in a must win game, honestly, what would you do? Is there anyone, at all, on the whole of the spurs community forum, that would have taken Eriksen off? Come on, speak up.

I'm not saying that we would have definitely won the game, that would be ridiculous, but an attacking change would have at least given us a chance, no? It was gutless at the most important of times.

Ok how about Sherwood makes Townsend practice his crossing after normal group training.

Townsends gets a bag of balls and uses the development squad as the defense and then has to practice over and over again.

As Gary Player once said. The more I practiced the luckier I got.
How do you know he doesn't do that?

We have a great run-in lets come away with a good points total. Arsenal still have to play Chelsea and City along with Everton away. It might be closer than you think

Arsenal were happy to let us have the ball as they knew we were so predictable in our play which was only cemented even further with poor substitutions.

Oh so that was there game plan. Tosh mate, they don't go out to play like that, never have.

To be honest I can't believe the reaction in here, forum has gone way down hill IMO.

On the front foot for 95% of the game, Yeah we lack guile in the final third, but its been like that all season. Overall we were unlucky to lose the game, should of had at least a credible draw to show for our efforts.

I have never in my life seen such an agenda against one person - even though he's struggling, its quite pathetic in all honesty.

Proof is in the eating really, have you seen his crossing in a match? I could take my 3 year old niece out to a field and teach her to cross with more accuracy and venom than Townsend.

Even if you are the one constant in your firm's change of performance from being almost bankrupt to the 5 th largest firm in the country?

If this was the business sector then Levy would have been poached years ago.
We reached fifth ten years ago, it's fourth where he has failed. Just as managers have made fifth but been sacked, so must the chairman go

Sad that some people can still find a way to blame AVB for today's result. He was Levy's scapegoat then and some fans now. Unbelievable.

Makes sense i guess, just don't know who would be stupid enough to become our fourth manager i
They parked the bus and hoped we couldn't hurt them. One dodgy deflection, a screamer from outside the box and we'd have equalised and probably gone on to win. Chadli had pretty much an open goal, Adebayor a good chance for a header. It was out of their hands and we just couldn't finish in the end. It's like people say we played brilliantly that first time AVB won at Old Trafford. The fact was that we say back and completely surrendered the game to whether United could finish or not. I think we outplayed them

If i had a quid every time i have read that on here when AVB, Redknapp and Jol were manager i could afford a new computer with a twenty inch monitor so i could write and post"

"Whats fucking new about that"?

It's a bit venomous. I sure as shit wouldn't want to get on the end of some of it.

We were not unlucky to lose the game. It is much the same as Utd v Fulham. All we did was bang the ball in to Ade and wished for the best. We failed to make the right substitutions and looked shaky at the back. If Moyes got hammered for those tactics against a team of clobbers, Sherwood should get much more stick for employing those tactics against a team containing a 11ft German international and a French international defender.

Plenty of want, commitment and desire - 10/10
Absolute lack of craft, guile and creativity - 4/10
And therein lies the problem with this current Spurs squad.
Having spent over 110million - I'm at a loss as to how we spent it.
We wanted it more than the Ar$e - but they had the better quality players.
Are we a work in progress?
I doubt it.
I don't see the talent.
I also don't understand why Soldado is forever on the bench.
Te only time in recent months we've looked like scoring is when we play 2 up front.
Dim Tim waited too long to play that card (again).
Two up front increases our odds of opportunities.
Ade can work his socks off (in the wrong areas of the field).
We're just about the 5th best team in the league - more likely the 6th.
We need an overhaul (again).
We need a better manager (again).
Tiring being a Spurs fan isn't it?!

So how do you explain Lennon never being able to cross a football? No one in the last ten years has made him practice?

And if this was the catering sector he'd have been fried.
Only joking.
There is a massive gap, though, between fifth-ish and first. The levels of financial support I know are very different.
