Hojbjerg is a bit overrated on here but the one thing he appears to have that our other midfielders don't is a bit of urgency to go with his commitment. In that sense, you can see why we rate him highly while fans outside of Spurs don't think too much of him.

He realises we must battle but also hurry along more in possession. We play far too comfortably in the middle and at the back, with way too many square passes and not enough movement off the ball. The tempo of our passing is terrible - the ball is trundling along among our back line, often a half-yard behind the receiving player. One touch passing to get up to the final third more quickly is rare.

Decent teams do these basic things well, almost to the point you don't notice them because the focus is much more on their attackers, who see a lot more of the ball in good situations. And by decent teams, I mean Wolves and Palace did this better than we did.
I think PEH would look better in a better team where he isn't asked to do so much beyond his capabilities. But he definitely is a bit overrated by Spurs fans. He wouldn't get a regular game for the top 4 bar maybe United at times but then DM is their by far weakest area. Like comically bad.

Least of our problems but it says alot when our best CM is genuinely someone we wouldn't have looked twice at in some previous spurs eras.

I love his commitment and work ethic though and for that he has my full respect.

I get the feeling that 90% of this board need to either reset their expectations or stop watching.

I only saw the 2nd half but enjoyed it. People calling Rennes farmers are clueless, disrespectful and should probably give up real football for FIFA Voltball or something.

For the first time in 20 years I forgot we were playing tonight.

I remembered but when something at work came up I did not miss watching at all. I have more apathy for Spurs, and football in general, than I have ever had, and it's been on the slide for a couple fo years now.

don't think we have the dynamism in
central midfield for a 433. Our options there are very one paced.
think a back 5 with wings backs would be better. we could then push ndombele higher up the pitch and free him from his defensive responsibilities

Would’ve been good if we’d just hired a manager who was more likely to have been a good fit like Ten Haag etc, the managerial search in the summer was an absolute farce.
As a club we yet again tried to cut corners by hiring Nuno because he was out of work and willing to work on a levy budget.
The result of this is being seen and felt now because we look a club with no indentity or structure.
Our star striker doesn't want to be here which is understandable, the team has been left short once again, I would be amazed if we finished anywhere near top 8.
I honestly cannot understand what is or what was going through Levy's mind regarding where he sees this club is at, yes we know he has no interest in football but with the new multi purpose stadium his pride and joy the club is hardly befitting of it an absolute embarrassment of a football club.

Hilarious reading the comments on the match the night before. There's a massive slice of this board that are convinced they support Real Madrid or Barcelona. We got a very useful away point against the best other side in the group. A champions League team not so long ago just like us. I'm glad most of the negative people don't actually go to the football, which is obvious as their opinions are so shaped by social media and TV it's ridiculous; the team would never get to form and improve. Pathetic really. By the way I quite enjoyed the match, much better than at crystal palace, but it's all football.

Tanguy, Emerson, Hojberg were three who played well, maybe others
Overall it was a very good result against a very dangerous team with a tremendous crowd behind them
Also the ref seemed to favor Rennes
We are now in pole position to win the group and I think have now officially overtaken Arsenal in UEFA rankings, and if not now will be by end of group stage I think ???
No mate, sorry lets be negative and moan like fuck even though we're only 4 games into a season, winning 3 of them! Honestly I expected better from a new manager coming straight in.
And please, if mentioning the Palace game, ignore the fact we had half the first 11 missing followed by another injury decimating our back 4 and then going down to 10 men. That had no bearing on the performance or result and should be seen as a reflection on the state of our squad and Nunos ability as a coach.

Honestly the utter bollocks being spouted in here is embarrassing.
Sounding like a whining bunch of gooners.
Think a need a break.

Not much to get excited about if you have any love for the game, at best we will become a "difficult to beat, difficult to play against" side under Nuno. That will only get you so far though, with this squad probably around the 7th place in the table.
Patience. Lets wait and see eh?

PEH’s interview after was interesting when they asked about how it’s going under Nuno and he hesitated and didn’t sound all too convinced or excited tbh. Mabye reading too much into it but tbh I agree with your points anyways
Now youre just saying shit you want too see.

Not sure what your mum has put in your porridge this morning because not one of us expects us to be a Madrid or Barcelona or any other successful club you care to mention.
You also need to stop banging on that we used to be a CL team because that moment has come and gone we are nowhere near good morning to be considered a top four side.
We drew against a side that twice we took the lead but once again shambolic defending cost us what is there to be excited about.

and yet people on here defend our dear Daniel - when will people see it is him who sets the ambition of this club. The extent of his ambition has been to pull out money from Spurs, over-value our own players yet undervalue other clubs players and refuse to pay the right prices for players who will improve our first team. As I said before, he did well by upgrading our facilities to compete with the big boys (best training facilities and now best stadium) but honestly, as Poch said, the new house needs new furniture.

Unfortunately our dear Daniel has gone all the way to the toilet but taken a huge shit outside the door. Blame Nuno, Jose, Poch all we want but it is clear to me that many of the players at the club are tired of playing for a scrooge like DL and its showing every week with lacklustre performances. I agree that we don't finish top 8 ...Nuno will be the fall guy by Jan/Feb next year and we will once again be in transition by end of the season...shitting ourselves about which manager, which players, missing the opportunity to truly leverage a pre-season by doing all our buying/selling early to help our manager (btw - this is a regular DL thing - every year! What's the definition is stupidity? Taking the same approach but expecting different results!). I think Paratici will jump on his own to save his reputation and next year Kane, Ndombele, Reguilon and probably a bunch of other players will be gone. But hey ...we will still have our star deadwood (Winks, Doherty, etc.), the best stadium and the best facilities right?

I don't know about you but there's no point being the 8th richest club in the world for the above to play out season after season. DL is just pissing on the once grand traditions of this football club

We'll said, I thought it was a really good game of football, up there in our top 30 per cent of European games. And I've been watching Spurs, in Europe right back to 62
Rennes gave it a right go, the crowd were tremendous, we didn't give in and got a massive point

Totally agree mate levy has fucked this club up on the pitch and as you set he has set the ambition level to low.
When you see clubs like west ham now a better side than us it gives you an insight into how much his grubby hands have helped ruin this club.
Having a stadium and training ground of that standard is not worth a wank when the team is average mid table fayre.
We probably need it to get worse before the crowd really turns on him starting with Chelsea this weekend, hopefully pressure builds and enic look to sell has to be the long game here.

I agree with the first sentence. I think a lot of people in here still expect us to play like under peak Poch. Which is not gone happen. And yes Rennes is not as bad as most think. However, for two years in almost every game I've watched our opponents looked like better organized team. Everyone is faster, stronger, better with the ball. I think a lot of us just expect some more willingness, aggressiveness and just balls on the pitch. And we look like we don't really know how we want to win a game. It's like 'hmmmm okay maybe I will pass to him and wait what will happen'.

The performance was garbage mate, some of us can look past the 'point' and realise we are genuinely an awful side. I mean even the two goals we scored were flukes, I'm not sure why we should enjoy or celebrate such poor performances. Even Kane looks an absolute shadow of himself. I don't find Spurs enjoyable at all and haven't for a while now, unfortunately we can't just switch off though. We look one of the worst coached teams in europe and to be fair have for years now, so that's not all on Nuno, every team we come up against including Rennes, Palace and Wolves piss all over us with their passing and movement. There is something rotten at the club.
