I am fast running out of things to say to Gooners in defence of our team.

"Well at least our manager knows how to take his f**king coat off" is about all I've got left after today's game.

:(

Yeah, but could he have zipped it up again if he put it back on, hmm?

Careful.

IT really is damage limitation time at the club. We would be better off with Hoddle for the rest of the season than keeping Sherwood and making half our squad want out.

Genuinely believe his comments are to unrail us as a squad to cause damage, knowing that he won't be here

Surely, if Levy has any sence back, he would replace Sherwood, if there was any available AND capable to do a better job now and in the comming seasons - there is not!!

I want him gone now. It's scaring the living daylights out of me that he might possibly be in charge for the start of next season and we line up with a midfield three of Livermore - Bentaleb - Carroll.

I still believe in this squad under a winner like LVG - and want to see it added to, not ripped up by some embarrassment.

Him throwing the ball at Sagna today, clenching his fists ready to smack out the Benfica coach. It's pathetic.

He is well on the way to doing that already.

Lloris, Vertonghen, Paulinho, Capoue and others all look like they don't want to play for him.

To be honest Vertonghen and Paulinho have been phoning in performances since before Sherwood was even appointed.

Can't say I agree, but I understand why you may be frustrated with them.

Come on mate, Vertonghen has had a bad month, body language is awful. Has got away with a lot since the start of season.

Paulinho...? £18m...? Absolute garbage.

Still believe there is a player in Paulinho and will give the benefit of the doubt for all summer signings in adapting to the league, lifestyle etc.

That's not to say I'm happy with his performances - far from it!

As for Vertonghen, you're being too kind - the malaise has been a lot longer than a month.

When he got the job he said that he would probably be out in the summer if he didn't perform so he must understand that he won't be here when the next season starts. So why start talking to the press about how bad everyone is (except Bentaleb) and how you're gonna sell them all in the summer when A: you know you won't be here in the summer. B: even if you manage to secure a new deal you know that it's not the manager that makes the decision on players at this club.

You're right about Vertonghen to be honest, it's just a fairly unpopular thing to do to criticise him and I think I got a bit blinkered.
