This man clearly doesn't want to be in the job anymore, or any future managerial job, for that matter.
My point is that tim provides the media with copious content and content potential, something they love, like they did with 'arry. They usually flatter and court such individuals - especially in such circumstances - for far longer, before they begin to shit on them and start the 'build you up, tear you down, build you up' cycle.
I'm talking about something more fundamental. Think our wires are crossed, dude...sorry, dudu.
That kind of makes Sherwood the fall guy then. The guy that was hired because no money was available to do anything else.Have you played top level football for 15 years and won a prem title? no? So you dont have the same experience as TS.Do we have 5m to pay an Interim manager for 6months work? no again, so what would you do smart arse, if avb walked out?
Football has a short memory. I think that the next managerial/head coach appointment is extremely important but if it's the right choice, or at least appears to be the right choice then you'll see the clouds lift very quickly. The crucial thing is that it's an appointment that won't have a section of the crowd moaning and it's also crucial that the chairman backs the new coach and is willing to stand by them even if it takes them time to get things right. Mission impossible? The man lacks class and is clearly only interested in covering his own back and protecting his own future. I've said it before but he's embarrassing the club and its supporters. My real fear is that his 6 month tenure could set the club back years and years. Nobody of any real integrity would dream of playing for such a man.
He's proving himself on a weekly basis as nothing more than an odious, contemptible pillock. The drop in image from AVB to Sherwood is enormous.

If Levy is going to give a manager time, he should have given Andre time. If LVG or Prandelli come in, he, the board AND most of the fans will be expecting success immediately due to their résumé's. Rightly or wrongly, that's what will happen.I think it's that last bit that almost everyone will find hard to believe, mate. As much as it's absolutely essential that he finally keeps his nose out of football affairs, I doubt there's a single Spurs supporter that genuinely believes Levy will do exactly that, let alone give a manager time.
I won't expect success immediately...it's ridiculous to do so.If Levy is going to give a manager time, he should have given Andre time. Im talking in generalities. SC is in the minority when it comes to Spurs fans. We are a passionate and generally realistic bunch here so we wont expect immediate success. Cant say the same for most of the fan base however.I won't expect success immediately...it's ridiculous to do so.
What I will expect, after 18 months of the new managers tenure, is some attractive football, and not being smashed by our direct rivals.
It's like he's writing his own step-by-step guide to infuriating Spurs fans. Wonder what he'll come up with next week..
"Bill Nick wasn't fit to zip my gilet"
"We need more characters like Sol Campbell around the club."
"Dave Mackay could have been great if he'd just shown more passion like me in that season for Blackburn"
I know. It's not exactly like any of us take any pleasure out of it but it's true.I think it's that last bit that almost everyone will find hard to believe, mate. As much as it's absolutely essential that he finally keeps his nose out of football affairs, I doubt there's a single Spurs supporter that genuinely believes Levy will do exactly that, let alone give a manager time.
I totally agree with this.Bit of a hysterical lynch mob vibe in here . Sherwood is only a caretaker manager . Levy can't possibly extend his term to next season . True , Sherwood has been larging it re his long term prospects , but then if he was always honest and told he players 'I'm only here a few months' that would have undercut his authority .
If Levy offered me a load of wonga to manage Spurs , I'd do it(Me 'n Tim have the same number of badges !) and if I fucked up , whose fault is that ?...hardly mine ...I'm a novice .
The only danger in Tim's appointment was that he fluked enough wins to make himself a contender . Happily that hasn't happened , yes he's been a bit of a plonker , but only a short term plonker , no need to have a protest over a man here less than 6 more weeks .
Fun as it is to lambast this novice , the bald person who arranged all this is the real culprit . To miss that is truly to miss the wood for the trees (or a phrase like that !)
You sounded like you know exactly what went on but you dont. Hence stop repeating yourself and post the same thing again and again. If you cannot agree with some posters then stay away from this thread.
But that is not average fan mentality though.I won't expect success immediately...it's ridiculous to do so.

"The players turn up to training, put in minimal amount of effort they have to. No one pushes themselves for him" Sherwood on GH 2003

Pound to a penny that it'll be sunshine and roses very quickly if the right man is appointed. Listen I'm not on the inside there but I think that things tend to be greatly exaggerated in football and the media will often exploit that. The problem is that some of the playing staff could see Sherwood's attitude and the way he discusses them with the media as a reflection on the club and so could their agents. Players like Paulinho, Capoue and Holtby all could conceivably want out next season no matter who we bring in as they would be well within their rights to think that with Baldini and Levy at the club, either could have pulled Tim aside and told him to stop questioning their attitudes and abilities in the media. I would if I was them.
People will say they should have a thicker skin, but this hasn't been a one off comment from Tim it has been going on about 2 months now, in the run up to the WC and could cost players their places. I think he has been an absolutely toxic appointment and has eroded the togetherness we had, has certainly damaged our mentality and is making us look like a club you just wouldn't want to be associated with. In fact even my friends who support other clubs ask me all the time why someone doesn't tell Sherwood to stop being a prick about his squad in the media. It is such a bad situation at the moment.
