I have this sense of dread that Sherwood is still going to be in charge next season. He keeps saying all this shit like he thinks he's invincible and that Levy won't do anything.

Top secret SC business took me to the thread announcing Sherwood's appointment so I thought "ooooh, I wonder what people were saying back then" and as you do, I looked. Thankfully, most people saw it as a temporary measure, or were willing to see how it all panned out before deciding on way or the other, but a few made for worrying reading.

There's no point in naming names because that isn't what this is about. It just goes to show how easily swayed/fooled/gullible/thick or to be charitable, optimistic we can all be sometimes!

Someone said:
Good move IMO.

Someone else said:
Good as it gives us stability

Would you believe it? Someone else said:
Happy with this

Someone who had just been seen snorting Harpic said:
I think some people will be surprised at how good TS actually is!

Who then snorted some more and said:
i think you will be very surprised, at how good he really is tactically

After popping a few double strength smarties he then said:
The players can settle now in this period, properly. And we will do well, trusssssst in meeeee

At this point I was questioning my will to live but I found someone else who said:
I think this is going to a success

Whilst I admire your dedication to the club, I really don't think DL does. Do you really think this will even get past the spam filter far less DL mailboy?

I have actually stopped and thought about this (for once) and I feel that it's wasted energy at this stage. We have 6 games left and even though I think theres a chance that Shitwood can upset a few more players, I feel that these guys will know that he's on borrowed time.

The only concern I have at this stage is if he's still at the club in another capacity as I feel that he would be in a position to undermine the next management team......or at least try. The new manager coming in needs to focus completely on getting these players playing as a unit and not spend the time looking over his shoulder for Shitwood's knife.

Shitwood said it himself, his performances/management will determine if he becomes a long term manager here at Spurs and I feel I can say with confidence he's not exactly passed
I know it makes me sound like a grumpy old git but 'shitwood'? Really?

I won't expect success immediately...it's ridiculous to do so.
What I will expect, after 18 months of the new managers tenure, is some attractive football, and not being smashed by our direct rivals.

Got smashed by a Chelsea who finished 2 places below us in a Wembley semi-final with a manager who's been in charge nearly 4 years.

And look at the mess he has helped cause.

We were in a mess when AVB got fired. At least he's brought Adebayor back into the side and given some of the younger players some exposure.

Both AVB and Sherwood have suffered by a radical change in our squad over the past 2 seasons. The club have lost their identity on the pitch.

Im talking in generalities. SC is in the minority when it comes to Spurs fans. We are a passionate and generally realistic bunch here so we wont expect immediate success. Cant say the same for most of the fan base however.
I disagree with this Yankspur. SC is indicative of the fanbase as we have a broad cross section of fans from all age groups and from many different countries, the consensus seems to be that whoever is in charge next needs to be given time. Along with this though, we also need to see that progression is being made during that time.

Where you might see the lunatic fringe kicking up is if they don't see the level of progression that they expect.

Give the new manager time, just so long as it's not Sherwood. That seems to be the consensus around here.
