No, the guy was passionate about us, I wont knock him for that.

You could see how shell shocked and hurt he was when we had those big defeats, I think he genuinely cares for the club. But, he is clearly was not the man for the job... For the various reasons that I and half the posters on SC have said.

I have agreed with some of things he has said, but then other things have been gob-smackingly shocking.

This is one of the good and sensible things he has said and I think they are his genuine words.

I'm not saying that someone else wrote to slag off TS....my thinking is that with all this breaking and people wanting a comment our media relations team will be in full swing. So any statement by the club or Tim will have been gone over and over again to make sure it conveys what the club wants to say.

Tim has always spoken his mind and been very passionate (numerous times in a very bad manner), in this case in what one would think would be a situation that one would assume would be a bit of an emotional timeframe i would think case even if they are his words our media people looked it over and made sure that the statement was specifically tailored for release.

The rumor must have started through someone at the club right? I just think its amateurish to disrupt the teams preparation with all the innuendo flying around. Its also disrespectful to Sherwood and pretty unprofessional no matter what you think of him.

Remember that we support a club that sacked a manager while a game was in progress, nothing should surprise us when it comes to Tottenham. Some very strange things go on in those WHL corridors i'm sure.

I think he may certainly of had a briefing, but still I think they are his genuine words though, IMO.

And I wasn't suggesting that some one wrote those words to slag him off either...

I really do hope that he finishes this season on a high and wins the remaining games :)

The reason i think it probably came from the press office is because, honestly...we don't have a clue what is actually happening and it reads as a very canned response, not that TS wouldn't be capable of writing a canned response, but without knowing what is actually going on it seems like it would be a job for the press office.

For all we know he could be getting sacked or he could be moving upstairs and we would want to be able to paint the situation (whatever it actually is) the right way for the club.

Tim would benefit from it because he wouldn't get caught out making an off the cuff remark that could paint him in a bad light and the club controls the direction of the story. So if he is sacked we paint it as "mutual consent" and make sure that he is prepared in a manner that allows him to be in a position for a new roll (i genuinely think even if we sack him the club would want to make sure he goes on to do well elsewhere), if he moves upstairs it is so our incoming manager (possibly LvG) "has access to an individual who knows the PL and players and can help with adjustment"....just us trying to control the story as best as we can, i don't think we intended for it to break when it did (before a match at the end of the season) but i would actually hope that Cullen and the rest would try to control it as best they can now that it is out there as it would be for everyone involved best interest.

I agree with a lot of what you say, apart from; Highlighted.

For obvious reasons Sherwood shot himself in the foot with that one, further more I don't think he will be at the club in any capacity and that would be best for all, IMO.

It needs to be LVG. Just speaking to my friend and he said LVG would upset the applecart, think that's what we actually need.

Rodgers was a gamble for Liverpool, to a certain extent every appointment is.
Yes every appointment is, but while Pochettino has been largely good for Southampton I would argue he hasn't shown nearly enough to merit the Spurs job over candidates like Van Gaal and De Boer who has made Ajax into a really good side despite losing his best players every season.

Wonder if the timing of all this is an attempt to lift the players a bit?

If they know Sherwood will be off then in a weird way that could make them more motivated to play for their futures.
