Seriously what the fuck? How is this an appropriate response? What an arsehole. He is coming across as a right Little Englander.
What would you rather he say? Erik's English really isn't coming on as well as we would like because he's a lazy little shit that just won't put the effort in to learn the language. ??
By answering it in the way he has, he has effectively diverted attention away from Lamela and moved the conversation on without saying anything at all.
Pretty good media management from the 'clueless idiot' I would say?

Why do you assume he is lazy and not putting the effort in? For one, Tim could have dispelled this assumption by saying something more constructive. He could have also given an update on his injury and even said something positive about one of our youngest yet biggest potential players-about looking forward to having him back in the squad etc etc...

Ok it was not that funny, but you lot need to chill the fuck out.

Whatever he say's you lot will bash him over the head with. Let him do his job. Attacking him for every fucking little thing will not help us win games. If you want to know why players want to leave it's because our fans are dicks.

I think it depends on whether he followed that up with an actual response. If he just left it at that then he's being a bit of a twat isn't he...

Maybe people should watch the full interview before slagging him off. Or maybe we shouldn't slag off our managers and players all the time and try supporting them. Other clubs seem to manage it and at places like atletico and roma the players feel some loyalty to the fans because of it.

I'm not assuming anything at all... I just put that forwards as something else that he could have said. I think that it was a great politician-like answer. He took the question and moved on to the next question without actually saying anything. People keep complaining that he needs to keep his mouth quiet and then when he does he's wrong for that too.
Poor bloke can't win.

It's almost like Tim Sherwood is massively out of his depth and doesn't know what he's doing?

WHO'D HAVE THOUGHT, EH?

Well that's definitely a shock for Ol' Stoof. I might even change my name to Shocked.

What a miserable streak of penis Tim is.

Or maybe Lamela is refusing to play and feigning injury because he doesn't like it at spurs and is angling for a move away?? I seem to remember
another couple of superstar players who did that. Seriously. This mob mentality is getting a little tiresome. None of us know the truth. So put the pitchforks down. They'll be no public flogging on Tottenham high road tonight people

First post from me in which I have criticised Sherwood. Those were not good comments to make public. No good trying to analyse or excuse or support. A team leader in a top high profile job trying to rejuvenate the clubs fortunes just doesn't do this. Those who say its all laddish, and cultural, and "gor blimey guv 'av a laff", well you'll no doubt be happy with the Spurs we have. We have to move on. The top managers wouldn't go down this route. Its funny only if the player concerned was having a storming season, then its funny. But when our top signing, a highly rated and previously highly successful player, aged 22, is struggling with injury and adjustment you don't go there. I think the WC comments were even worse.

He knows he's not got the job next season so why should he sugar coat everything ?

Lamela didn't play any part in AVB's season and he's played no part in Sherwood's, not much of a return from what you call our top signing.
Maybe they both had an agenda to stop him playing, that makes sense lol.

The fact that his brother has retweeted that is really not a good sign. up until now, when asked, Brian has always said that Erik didn't want to leave Spurs, this is the first negative thing he has tweeted. By retweeting this it almost gives credence to the idea that Tim just doesn't like Erik. This may not be true, and Brian may not have realised the implications of doing so and until we see the full interview or read a transcript we won't know for sure. Fact is, if it's true, it's awful from Tim. Whether u like a player or not you should still back them to go to to the World Cup, maybe he is just bitter because no one was asking about Bentaleb.

You are quite right I should have said most expensive signing. Not sure what the other point is you are trying to make.

That really isn't good. What on earth is he trying to achieve?

You would think he would be mindful of the fact that any potential future employers would not only be scrutinising his results but his conduct and the way he carries himself.

Ah well, his problem really if it was as bad as it reads.
