You mean making a joke at the expense of our record signing and his situation is acceptable? I don't buy it personally. Plus, we are still waiting for him to do his job to an adequate standard, and I would quite happily let him do his job (not that we are actually stopping him?)if this was happening.

It was just Sherwood trying to be funny - whether or not you find it funny is one matter but I think its a bit of an over reaction for everyone to be attacking Sherwood over it
It reminds me of when people were outraged that Harry had made the joke about his Mrs scoring the chance that Bent missed
Its just working class humour that's maybe getting lost in modern football the less and less working class football becomes - this is such a typical old school building site automatic stupid responce (no doubt my dad would have said the very same thing automatically like he says what? or pardon and pretends to be death if you ask him if he can hear you)
I don't get why there is such a high level of hate for Sherwood - he's not done a great job but he's not been terrible either, he's a stop gap and he will be gone by the summer.
I think the Di Matteo analogy is very accurate - basically Sherwood like Di Matteo has had little to no effect on the team and we've won games (or lost them) basically due to the quality of our players alone (which explains why we've generally beaten the weaker teams and lost to the better ones)
I still don't get the hatered of him though - just frustration in general at a season that should have seen us go from strength to strength but has actually seen us go backwards and miss a glorious opportunity. To me though there are people more deserving of the finger being pointed at them (Levy) for the mess we are in rather than a man who simply wasn't good enough to get us out of a mess we were already in
