Patrick Kluivert says Frank de Boer reminded him of Pep Guardiola, in that you could always see he would become a successful, and described the Ajax boss as a "big trainer coming."

"He is a winner. He wanted to win everything, even card games"
cough cough....Should be popular on the bus trips if he gets the job. Another upside if things go tits up at least he can get a job here:
I don't know about Barca but DeBoer is definitely touting himself around for a bigger job.Am i the only one who read that as a come and get me to barca?
He really isn't, read his real quotes and he said he isn't ready for a big job and wants something like a tottenham or a liverpoolI don't know about Barca but DeBoer is definitely touting himself around for a bigger job.
Did they? They've said all of that and more about AVB. We'll have to have a lot of luck to go with it.

AVB was only highly rated because he had one great season, worked as a scout under mourinho and mourinho started at porto.
If AVB hadn't met Mourinho he wouldnt of been the next big thing as much as people made out. Simone won the Europa League but nobody was looking at him 2 seasons ago
Im aware of his back story but he worked under mourinho more than bobby. No he met Bobby Robson as a kid earlier on his career and worked under him before. The season at Porto he took the club unbeaten all season won 4 trophies and became the youngest manager it win a European title. He wasn't even talking to Mourinho when he got the Chelsea Job so he got where he did on merit. I'm sure The similarities of Mourinho career helped but he got there on merit. If we didn't keep selling our best players all the time then pull apart his squad and replace them with 7 foreigners with no prem experience I think he would have done well for us

Yes he did very well in for Porto but it was the fact mourinho became great at chelsea that created the hype and let him get the chelsea job.
As for whether would of done well I don't think the prem experience was an issue, he is decent manager but he changed his system far too much that it cost him his jobs not the signings.
Hit the ceiling at Ajax, but Barca might be too much right now. They will probably go for Luis Enrique next, anyway. After that fails, then maybe it'll be de Boer.I don't know about Barca but DeBoer is definitely touting himself around for a bigger job.
I didnt say he was shit but he did very well. Remember he did have a team sold for £200million. If we had Falcao, Hulk, Rodriguez and Moutinho. I think we would be challenging for the title tbh in the premier league. He did "very well" in Porto? Seriously?
The man won a quadruple in 1 season! Do you know how many managers have accomplished that in the entire history of world football?
About 10 or less IIRC.
Furthermore, I believe ONLY about 2 or 3 out of those 10 were in a major league (one of the top 7 in Europe), i.e. EPL Bundesliga, La Liga, Eredivisie, etc.
And if you also consider the fact AVB is not a former footballer (like so many other successful managers out there), the aforementioned accolades become even that much more special.
So I guess what I am trying to say is "very well" is an enormous understatement, IMHO. "Very well" (depending on the league) could constitute qualifying for CL, perhaps getting close to winning the title, or maybe even winning the title (or a trophy for that matter).
I mean winning a double at any of the big leagues (even at some smaller ones) is considered a very big achievement. A treble is fucking outstanding to say the least, but a quadruple is nothing short of magical, my friend!

Also he did the treble, super cup matches don't really count. Nobody said we did the double in 62. Nobody called Chelsea treble winners in 2010!

If he was that good, how come he is now plying his trade somewhere in the outer reaches of Russia?
If he was that good, how come he is now plying his trade somewhere in the outer reaches of Russia?
What does that matter? If Redknapp is so good, how come he's managing in the Championship, and struggling to get out of it?
If Moyes is so good (as was said for a fecking decade at Everton) why is he now unemployed?
It's all about circumstance. However, AVB is obviously being employed by these CL clubs for one reason or another. The same can't be said about other managers, managers who some of our supporters won't have a bad word said about. Funny that
