I would like to clarify that i dont get anything from a Spurs stand point, i get it from a Southampton stand point. what i have been saying since Pochettino gave a rather evasive press conference a little while back was that HE wants Spurs.
The Saints new 5 year plan includes stabilizing and remaining top of *there* League, something that Adam Lallana alluded to in an interview he gave to the press after the rumor sprang about Liverpools interest a few days ago. Pochettino is not in any way shape or form happy with that, he wants to push on.
He is aware of the interest from Spurs and has been since AVB was sacked, if anyone thinks this *sit down with the owners and talk about the next 5 years crap is legitimate you are mental, he already knows the lay of the land and it isnt grand enough..baring Saints changing there outlook massively Poch will want to come here first.
Im not ITK im just telling you guys what i am being told and stuff i *cough* overhear.
Greyfox could well be spot on with his info, but looking at it from a Pochettino point of view, the noises are that he is inward bound.

That makes a lot more sense to me. I don't buy for one second its dependent on what Southampton are doing unless the landscape is about to change radically in the ambition stakes down there. If we decide to offer him the job and he's genuinely interested in pushing on with his career at a Club that aspire higher than his current one I fail to see how these talks with his current employers would change anything - unless of course he's not that fussed about coming to us - but I don't believe that's the case given his evasive quotes of late.

Spot on. I rate Soldado, but he is not equipped to be a lone striker. His skills, at this stage, are better suited to be part of a possession-based attack, where the attack is built from the defense. He is not the kind of striker than can play long-ball, he needs to work with other players - making runs, making passes, etc. If he is in that system, or even as part of a two-striker system where his is more withdraws, he'll come good.

sounds just like AVB's system this season?

Soldado seems to be the opposite of being better suited to a possession based attack as he does not hold the ball up well and often loses possession when involved in buildup.

He seems much more suited to playing on the shoulder of defenders in a more direct and vertical attack.

Here is a zonal marking article discussing Soldado's strengths and why he would be a good fit for AVB's vertical attack that we all anticipated he would be implementing at Spurs, opposed to the slow possession based system that Soldado struggled to make an impact in this season for us.

If there's ITK on a player, fill your boots. But wishlists? Today? On byebyesherwood day?

Have you really got nothing better to do? I ought to make you wear the pink tanktop of shame.

Van Gaal has decided to make the waters murky again, just when I'd got over his horrible betrayal by picking the Manc fucks he decides to confuse the matter again. I can only take so much dammit :p.

Sorry, just reporting what I have been told, it could be 2+2 =5. I know its the hope that kills you, but I think everyone in the club want and need this to be the right decision as much as possible.

as much as possible, given that we are spurs… :cautious:

I highly doubt anything will happen with him to us. Liking the comments though from ITK today. @neogenisis are saints looking to sell players this year or is it a case of having to if your quite familiar with people there ;) *cough lallana cough* :p

Lallana is simply career progression
Shaw they dont have to sell by all accounts he is happy to stay, this one is simply down to cash offered.
Clyne is a possible United deal, United could have signed him before saints but were not convinced at the time. Abit like Berbatov.
The interesting one is Rodders, I had itk on him that poch rates him and would like him to follow.

Cos he is still to talk to his own Board and a lot will depend on their intentions to sell or not. Plus we have washed our dirty linen in public too much lately to show our cards before we know what we have been dealt with. I could be wrong, just from what i have been told, don't think we will complete anything this week.

I thought that we had kit men that did that with lashings of Daz?

Soldado can play the lone striker role in the right environment. An environment that excludes greedy and ineffectual wingers and includes genuine creative players and proper tactics. There is a massive difference playing the lone striker in front of Lamela, Chadli and Eriksen instead of Lennon, Townsend and Sigurdsson. He isn't a striker that creates for himself like Adebayor so he needs this kind of unselfishness behind him.

We have seen his intelligence and skill, the only thing that is missing is confidence, and as long as our new manager favours our better attackers then he will get more chances and score more goals. Once this happens we'll see a new Soldado, a centre forward that gives us a cutting edge that will make all the difference.

Thank you for replying mate. So do you think if he comes to us saints may stop anyone following due to bad blood or would it still be run business like? Just intrigued as i know saints sell their players but obviously poeple can burn bridges...

Not a scooby, I think the bottom line is if pochettino goes it will be because they dont have the ambition not that we stole him, I see no bad blood. That however is my onions.
