Hope Liverpool get him instead of Shaqiri. I think he is a great player (very good passing for a wide player) but not worth 25m. And I think Shaqiri is better so I hope Liverpool don't get him.

For £30m we could buy Konoplyanka and Ricardo Rodriguez. He is a tidy player, but he is being massively overvalued.

I think some are underrating how expensive Rodriguez is going to be. He was one of the best LBs in the world last year.

He said massively over rated which is ridiculous in the extreme if one actually has seen a lot of Southampton play this season.

There's a reason why Rodgers wants him, and hopefully Pochettino, and that's because he's clearly very highly rated amongst guys who know a lot more than the average fan.

A lot of money yes but it depends how we approach it. If we were to blow two thirds of our budget on Lallana without addressing more pressing concerns it wouldn't make much sense. However if we were to raise part of the funds via sales, particularly players who operate in a similar area on the pitch and represent a clear upgrade on like Sig - I'd be totally up for pushing the boat out to get him.

Could your head be further up your own arse? I swear you didn't used to be this pompous with your opinions. 'Nobody can have watched Soton as much as me if their opinion of a player is different'. Kaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, like I give a fuck if anyone is doubting how much I watched Southampton.

Same Rodgers that is going after Lambert, yeah? Same one that bought Borini, Aspas, Joe Allen for 15m?

Anything over £20m is ridiculous for Lallana, especially considering he is rapidly approaching 40. I'm done discussing him anyway, any time I dare say this guy is overrated there's some mild hysteria. We'll see next season, I guess. If he does amazingly well, I'll be the first to hold my hands up and say 'good 1 m8, well done'.

I didn't intend to be patronising. I will bow to your opinion. You are the fountain of all football knowledge. I'll get Lallana on my next shirt, even if he doesn't sign for us. I'll call my first child Adam, even if it's a girl.

Pls dunt call me a muppet, that hurt my feelings.

It's getting a bit tetchy in here!

I understand those not wanting to blow our whole transfer budget on Lallana, but I don't get those that say we don't need him or a player of his type.

Eriksen can't do it on his own. I like Holtby but I'm sorry Lallana is a level above him.

I don't know how anyone can watch us and not conclude that we are way short of passing ability and intelligence in the final third. The more players we have like that in the squad the better, particularly if we are to play this supposed "high energy, attacking and fluent" football that Poch is supposed to bring.

Yes we have other priorities ( LB, CB and CF) but we still need more creativity.

Holtby is a better passer than Lallana.

Holtby is a better passer than Lallana.

Not from what I've seen. And even if that were the case, Lallana more than makes up for it in goal scoring, crossing, first touch, skill on the ball and football intelligence. I like Holtby and wouldn't like to see him leave but Lallana is simply a better player imo.

The though of him, Eriksen and Lamela behind Ade or Lukaku/Bony is very tasty indeed. It's all about quality in the final third for me.

£25m? We could get a couple defenders and a youth prospect for that.

Personally think he is quality. Watched him a number of times last season and he would improve us no end irrespective of price. In the end it's not my money (well actually part of it is due to my season ticket).

Isn't Griezmann and Alexis valued around the same price, although nether would probably come to us I would say they are better players then Lallana and worth 25 mil. I just think that is way to much money for a player who has only really had one great season. I think we need to strengthen a few positions and spunking 25 mil (could even be more if Southampton play hard ball) on one player is a bad move, unless of course he is world class which Lallana is not.

So to sum up,

Lallana is good, but overrated. Konoplyanka is better and cheaper, and Liverpool are suckers for spending big bucks on Lallana, but if we can get our other targets and buy Lallana for a reasonable price, it'd be a good deal?

Cheers mate. Informative x 1

It's okay mate. I like to help people who don't know what they're talking about.

Anyways, in re: to Lallana and other options, he's still a solid option. He's better than the likes of Shaqiri and Kono, whilst Alexis is almost nailed on to go to Juventus imo. Griezmann could end up at PSG or someone of that calibre too. Not realistic sadly.
