LB and CB are definitely at the top of the list. Hopefully there aren't too many outgoings though. Replace a CB and then striker if necessary. Maybe a winger for the left side. Some consistency is probably best for this squad though.

Nice ITK from GF, like balanced squad is seen but don't like selling our players :( unless they are shit or tools

It is encouraging to know that LB and CB are areas we have recognised as our biggest weaknesses and that there has also been an admittance that we need to trim the squad. I also hold out hope that it has been recognised how terrible Rose is and that we need to move him on ASAP.

I do wonder who we will be targeting for the LB and CB positions, as it will be interesting if we want to sign someone established or someone with more room for development.

Thank Grey Fox - a ITK to discuss.
More outs than in ?

We got so much mediocrity in midfield & defense, its going to be hard to sell some of them.

I think that is just good sensible ITK round of the situation from Grey Fox, that no one can argue against.

Go on then, prove me wrong

I like the balance squad thing. There must be room for 3-4 young talents in a 25 player squad. I think it´s good if there is some kind of hierarchy. All can not have the jersey number 10.

We have to choose who to believe in and the youngsters are the challengers. For example, Sigurdson have been here two years and it feels like he barely got a chance. And that goes for many of the players.

QPR came back up though ;)

I do thibk we need to shift some players, but I also think if we playedxthem in a system and position that works we have alot of quality waiting to come through.

We need to find quality in XI first.
Assuming Walker is fit & Ade will continue his form (or Soldado miraculously regains form), I see CB, LB, LW, RW as priority positions to bring in first XI players.

I guess, no one knows our best XI.

Like most, I'm glad that LB and CB have been recognised as needing strengthening. I think we have too many CMs and some should be moved on. The lack of consistency there last season, especially with so many new to the club, was one of our problems when it came to the games against the top 4. As for strikers, I wouldn't mind Ade, Soldier and Kane all staying. With Eriksen and Lamela playing "heads up" football they should prove more chances for Soldier and we could then see far better scoring rates from him.

We really don't want too many changes, let those who joined last summer now show what they can do.

I'd put RW right at the bottom of priority of positions we need to purchase. One of Lamela, Townsend and Lennon must be able to fill the position competently enough.

Small post-meeting ITK donation made. Will add more when key signings made.

Nice to see that the club agrees with the situation. Will be sad to see some of the players leave (CM/DM mainly) but the squad does need re-balancing. If we fix LB and CB, and thin the midfield, we will be pretty much there for once (especially if we sort LW and ST too).

In - (LB, CB, LW, ST) 4
Out - (BAE/Rose/Fryers(L), Dawson/Kaboul, Naughton/Fredericks(L), Livermore, Sigurdsson/Holtby, Capoue/Sandro/Dembele, Lennon/Townsend, Ade/Soldado) 8-10

I'd expect to see a squad movement of around this amount (x/x means either or). I think that would balance our squad but still retain depth.

Other areas to keep an eye on:-

GK - If Lloris goes replacement require, if not look keep scouting for young backup (and poss loan Archer)
CM Playmaker - Unless Carroll, Bentaleb or Holtby are groomed for this it wouldn't be a bad area to invest in. Would need significant CM sales/loans beforehand though
RB backup - Possible understudy/competition for Walker if Naughton sold, and Fredericks not ready.
2nd new CB - If Vertonghen or Chiriches go.

Should be another busy summer on here.

In a way you are right. But my point is, there is no No.1 choice there. Lamela was so average, I have no faith in him. He has simply got to deliver this season, if he plays for us. With how Lamela played last season (couldn't beat a single LB in 1000 min in PL), Townsend is the best bet in RW. I am fed up with Lennon too.

Telegraph quote from yesterday: "Tottenham are in the market for a new central defender, a left-back and a left-sided forward player."

the bit about not many 'ins' until after the world cup is only relevant if the player is actually at the world cup

I am sure some of our shopping might be for players not there

Ade is in decent form. Kane has been a revelation IMO, in last 6 games. Soldado - well probably is worst season ever - may be he can only improve. I don't think Striker dept is that bad.

Having said that, I do agree we need a upgrade there. Considering how bad our defense is, I tend to agree with the priority
