Most people think we haven't seen the best of Capoue... And after so many seasons in the prem you've got to assume we've seen the best of Dembele. Hence the votes for Dembele.
Dembele carried an injury all season and was nowhere near his best, people get frustrated because he is the most talented footballer out of those listed and he could not get going last season. Isnt given the slack of a Sandro but for me he is a completley diff player. Anyway I would keep all four listed and hope poch can bring out the best in them.

Is he though? I mean as far as I can see he lacks one of the main attributes of being an attacking mid and thats a footballing brain. He lacks vision, awareness and makes really poor decisions passing wise. And his blinkers are out of this world to the point where i'd suggest he gets his peripheral vision tested.

... Could be wrong, it's happened before and he could pull a brain transplant out of leftfield but the way he plays with the ball at his feet needs to be completely changed. I don't think he's got that in him.

As it currently stands 62% say Dembele.

I reckon those 62% will be contemplating a slab of humble pie after the world cup. I get a feeling he's going to star for Belgium.

One match? That's all you could come up with? Kinda makes my point, don't you think?

Lol that's just an example off the top of my head but that's how he performs when fit. If you want more examples then just about every game up until his injury last season

The most frustrating thing with Dembele is that he shows on occasion a very lovely pass, we know he's a superb dribbler, and when he does shoot it can be absolutely cracking. All the bloody ingredients are there. If Pochettino can get him to make the most of his abilities then he's potentially the best of the lot, but if he remains the Dembele of the past season then he's just a guy with bags of ability but not much idea how to use it.

I personally think we should leave out CM untouched, we have four good, established internationals fighting for two places and in Bentaleb (now also an international) a promising player who may well evolve to displace those ahead of him. Unless we receive a particularly good offer for one of Paulinho or Dembele I'd keep them all, keep Bentaleb and use the cups and Europe cleverly.

A year ago who would have ever thought Jordan Henderson would finish the season going to Brazil as one of the best midfielders in the league of the season? He wouldn't have been ahead of any of our current lot, now he's ahead of the lot of them. Capoue, Dembele, Sandro, Paulinho and Bentaleb is a superb array of options to have. Like with the rest of our team, we just need a manager who can get the balance right and steer them in the correct direction.

I'm still very keen to see if Poch can get more out of Dembele. He has bags of ability although we know he can frustrate for the reasons that have been cited numerous times in this thread already.

The hip problem needs sorted though.

The World Cup is completely different to the premiership..

I don't think we can keep all 4 happy and I think being 5th choice will hamper bentaleb's development. If all were fit one of the 4 wouldn't even make the bench and will be desperate to leave by jan, there were enough noises from them this jan. If we had cl fair enough but we don't

Di Marzio saying Napoli are considering going up to £15m for Sandro today. Will be interesting to see what we do with that, could see Levy accepting bearing in mind his injury record. Would be gutted to lose him, even though that is a good offer.

Yet if by the season starts he's back to full fitness and gets a run of games to get his form it will look a steal in today's market

I agree, he has the makings of a world class DM but I'm not convinced his body is up to it. Its been almost two years of injury issues now. I'd rather not sell him until later in preseason, which probably goes for all four of these players. I'm pretty sure one needs to go though, if they all stayed fit all season it would be unmanageable, and that's without bringing Bentaleb-who I think could be great for Poch-into the equation...

Apologies if I've mentioned it already in this thread, because I've posted it in another, but in terms of minutes on the pitch Sandro's had just a season's worth of games in the last three. That really isn't encouraging. Spurs9 may be correct in attributing that to poor coaching, but I don't believe that's the only explanation. The idea of his getting back to full fitness and having a run of games looks like wishful thinking.

I would hope that Poch would have some say in the matter!

We need to stick with him. He has the potential to be a first class defensive midfielder, and he's one of the few players left who the fans have any sort of connection to.
