None of us should be suprised by the extremley long drawn out process that is our transfer dealings but I wouldnt let it get you pissed off.
Although i thought one of the recent itk stated we have the money to spend so what is the fucking problem and why are we waiting for the last day and run the risk of moutihnio or damio situation of falling through and too late to do anything.
Personally i find this way of doing business deeply flawed.
Its more exciting that way;)

Does anyone know why Soldado is on a plane back to Spain? He's put a picture on Instagram saying Back to home! Great work this week..

He's probably just getting away for a few days because he's had enough of getting his picture taken next to Lamela & those stupid fucking outfits he's clearly nicked from his sister.

No - he can't sign a contract until his 18th birthday, and until he signs a contract he can't apply for a work permit.

No work permit, no work. So, he can train with us, play non competitive matches etc, but I believe under immigration rules he can't be paid for doing so - and I would also expect he would be limited on the length of time he was in the country (depending upon his visa).

The only way around this is if he (or a close family member) held a UK or EU passport in which case there would be no restrictions.

An initial works visa is for two years. The visa will be for a worker with an exceptional skill, outside of the normal qualifying criteria for a works visa i.e. a degree, or proven advanced certificate of education. He will be sponsored by Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. After two years a different working visa is applied for that would eventually lead to a permanent residency application, which would give him full residency law (like you or I) aside from the fact that he could not vote.

Now if his parents are here as permanent residents that changes things, but i do not know how exactly.

Nope, little bets have huge sway over the odds on these markets.

It's money placed by the general public. Bookies don't set the prices on these markets, just adjust dependent on where the money has gone.

It's interesting nevertheless as it's been so public that he was set to join Liverpool.

I neg repped you. Levy messed up how?
I think Shelfboy68 has summed up some of the reasoning. How many times have we discussed on here the importance of getting signings in early and the squad settled before the season starts. The approach of haggling over non-material amounts has held us back too often - the long term benefits of getting the right players in and the returns from success on the field seem to get overlooked.

As for neg-reping me - bully for you, if it makes you feel good

I might agree, but various other ITK's have stated that he is the 'top dog', and you can't deny that, whether its vague or not, he's sopt on most of the time. Mods also seem to think he one of the best, and that's good enough for me.

These are the same mods who allowed me to sign up to this site. Food for thought, food for thought (y)

Caulker was sold for £9m, Livermoore £6m, Townsend has played for England. Kane, Rose and Bentaleb are all in the first team squad. We have not produced the next Messi, but that is not a bad return.

Still trying to suss that one out. However, I've also just realised that David Nugent, Carlton Palmer, Franny Jeffers , Michael Rickets and Emile Heskey also played for England, and things suddenly make more sense.

Lets put this in perspective. Sheringham at Kanes age was struggling to get into the Millwall team. Zidane at Bentalebs age was playing for Cannes. Not saying that they will rech those heights but it is a bit quick to write them off.

Yep, Drogba hadn't even signed professional papers at that age, Thierry Henry was flopping at Monaco and Juventus etc etc etc. Too easy to write players off mate. We had a Welsh lad not too long ago who was supposedly cursed & close to being sent out on loan to the Championship. Just imagine if he was also written off so quickly!!

Playing for England is no longer a reference on a footballers CV...................unless your name is T. Dorigo or J. Salako that is.

Cortese fell out with Poch and Poch threatened to resign if he didn't so no way will Cortese come

My guess is that fat pig Kemsley will be back. With the stadium they will need a property guy etc, least if it is him we will get loads of ITK as he cant keep his fat gob shut

You've got that totally backwards, Drex. Poch and Cortese are VERY close, and our beloved National Press ran weeks and weeks of "Poch will leave if Cortese leaves" stories. Poch ended up (in the end, after chats with board members) coming out with a statement saying he would stay.

I gotta say their mentioning the like of Townsend, Kane, Carroll, bentaleb and caulker in the same breath as zidane, henry, sheringham and bale are completely deluded. I kinda get the point which is being raised but as a supporter of spurs for 22yrs I have never been convinced by our youth set up..I hope this is something we can start to change. The players mentioned are ok, but we should be bringing through genuine future stars

Townsend was desevedly called up and started for England. He hasn't been given some charity caps.

Mate, I'm having a laugh. Any 'winger' with zero assists and 1 goal that came from a cross = not worthy of International selection, in my opinion.

However, it's Sunday, the sun is shining, and, today, I'm a year closer to dying (y) COYS

Keith, I hear you buddy BUT this conversation MUST be taken to "Spurs Chat" otherwise a certain grouchy fella is going to whip out his gimp suit & show you how naughty it is to not stick to ITK in this part of the site (y)
