I have no problem with Danny Rose's attitude at all, he could have been at Sunderland playing regularly but we said we wanted him and he would be our left back, now we are saying we don't want him so he is entitled to say ok I'll be off then.
I have always respected Danny Rose for his behaviour at Leeds when chelsea were tapping up their youngsters with envelopes stuffed with money, I still respect him.

What a shocker from Danny Rose. Predictable response from the little ball bag. Contrast that to Dawson's (& Siggy for that matter) reaction to incoming competition.

Any itk at all on bae? The worrying thing about this is lack of LB cover again. Verts sulks there (although I don't know why, he's pretty good) & we don't want to see naughtin there if we can help it ... leaves davies & fryers who's seeming to be more a cb too I think.

I don't necessarily not believe the Danny Rose news but arnt we all suppose to take ITK with a pinch of salt before we crucify him? He's had his moments which have driven me mad with rage last season (goons away cup game for that second goal spring to mind) but if this was from a paper or something we'd all be going on about 'no quotes' etc

No smoke without fire and all that I guess but I'd rather have him here than have no cover at all (or Naughton at left back)

Let's be realistic about Danny rose...

If a new management came into your workplace and the first area of improvement they is identified was an upgrade of your position/role, I think it completely natural to be upset and disappointed maybe annoyed, give the lad time and see how he reacts over the coming weeks, I'm not saying he is good enough just that I don't see his reaction as totally surprising.
Was gunna say the same, he will calm down in a day or two guys.

It's not even like they have said he's kicking up a stink, he's just "unhappy"

I think we bought alot in last summer and i think we will wait till january if we need more. I think 2 more in and 3 or 4 out :)

we did bring in alot of players last summer but we counter balanced that by doing nothing in January last time around, despite our poor onfield performances and lack of squad balance. I understand we need to give the guys chance to settle and prove themselves but we definately were short at the back and on the left most the season.

Tbh I really hope not, I'd rather we just get our defense sorted if that's the case and fuck-off other transfers.

Defense is everything for us right now. Has to be the priority especially after last season.

I think DL will ask poch what he needs and give it to him. He will just have seen what he can do with a new group of players - who've been shambolic of late - teaching them a detailed method and getting them to respond pretty effectively in just 2/3 weeks.

I think Levy will trust his direction on what's needed and do his best to genuinely accommodate.

The defence is a bit weird though because if Kaboul is fit, then in Kaboul, Chiriches and Vertonghen we've already got three good centre backs, so who do you then bring in?

If Kaboul is fit, and we're confident he'll stay that way, then I don't think we'll sign a first team centre back. If he isn't though, then centre back does need to be a priority.

Rose has form on being a shyster when his place in the team comes under threat. Few players in World football can demand an unchallenged place in the team unless you name is Messi, Bale or Ronaldo (and a few others i guess) but Rose would not even be considered as a boot cleaner to any of those forementioned.

He has an extremely high opinion of himself and his ability as a footballer, fortunately we now have a coach that can see through the person that is very much meme.

Poch is building a team, and not one full of drama queens.

Thank God.

The Goat hears that Danny Rose isn't very happy and wants out.

You don't think that's kicking up a stink?
Fair play to the guy, I say. We signed him, sent him out on loan for three seasons - the last of which he excelled in - then we bring him back, and sign another player of his age in his position. Why shouldn't he want to leave and get on with his career? Good luck to the boy, if that's what he wants.

Was there not itk about lloris wanting the same? Yet he signed a new contract and no one slatted him as much as they are rose. Not everything we hear is 100% true. Pinch of salt.

Poch said Davies provides good competition for Rose and intends to keep both. Too bad Rose has a shit attitude.

The last I had was that he'd shit his bed with Harold and was bound for Turkey or France. That was a few weeks before the season ended.

Maybe we signed another player in his position because he's not good enough? Either way I won't bad mouth Rose but couldn't care less if we sold him.

Gonna need a LB if Rose huffs off, another good CB (can't rely on Kaboul's fitness) who is pacey - verts/chiri are not quick and kaboul has lost some of his sharpness since injury.

Maybe an upgrade on Naughton as well. I know he was ok last night but I simply don't think he's good enough for where we want to be, he lacks concentration and positional sense, yes poch could do some work on him, but there's just something missing for me with this player.

If BD got injured I'd be uncomfortable with him in his place.

Also, will poch dig chiri? We are gonna play a wicked high line with the fullbacks split very wide and there's a lot of vulnerability in doing that and we have to make sure we have the necessary pace and nous to recover effectively on counters and when caught short.

Anyway, interested to see what poch thinks/does.

Pochettino: "the season is very long and we need to stay deep at every position. Ben Davies is important for us because he's good competition for danny rose on the left hand side."

Points to Poch wanting to keep lil danny around.

Pretty sure that was a news article during the Sherwood reign. Same thing with Verts. The ITK's and Lloris's quotes have clearly told a different story and it culminated in a new 5 year contract.
