imagine Beast tweeting that if we block his move. Levy (probably not just him) would be totally pissed haha

Well this is where the hypocrisy of football fans comes to show, me included. I want Schneiderlin and if this is what brings him here I'm kind of okay with it, but not really. :p

I dont want players who will publicly tweet something like that. Just gives off a bad vibe to me. I hope he stays at Saints. Can you imagine how pissed off we would be if one of our players publicly said some shit like that? What an awful statement by Morgan. That annoys me.

Obvious to whom?

Pochettino stated that he wanted to assess the squad, he's now done that and found that he wants to strengthen in CM and LWF and he recommended the Southampton chaps, we're now going about acquiring the targets. I wouldn't take put as much faith in what Kruger said, Saints fans aren't.

Couldn't really have assessed the squad, since 7 were at WC and not back yet. Also, Sandro, Ade, Chiriches, injured/ ill and not yet assessed.

Its seems like a PR stunt from Kruger to me - Cue the 'MS and JR have handed in their requests and want out' passing blame to the players and saving face to their fans because the club 'didn't want to sell'

Let's remember that the club (Southampton) has not shown much loyalty to its players by selling many of their stars and letting their Manager go too. Would you want to stay?

Works both ways, same as it did for us when Berbs, Modric and Bale left as we could not match their ambition.

The guy has seen everything he has been promised when signing a contract ripped to shreds. Up until this point has kept quiet, by all accounts got within touching distance of a move to us which he was craving and in fairness worked his arse off on the pitch for them, only to have the rug pulled from under him at the last min!

I'd be pissed too!

What if he wasn't told the move was off before it was all over SSN? What if he found out through a TV that the move you thought you were going to get was pulled, because your chairman just decided to say 'no' at the last minute? IF that is to be the case, then media for media and eye for an eye. We'll be waiting in the shadows ready to rescue him and Saints chairman/board are the ones who come out looking like idiots.

I wonder how many times this sort of thing happened in the past before social media, or ones that just never got reported.

Bet it's not that irregular at all.

To be fair the situation there is pretty unprecedented and MS is not exactly a mercenary. He's given virtually his entire senior playing career to the club so far and he's just watched it all fall apart and, like I said above, it could be that he feels his done more than enough for them and is now being stabbed in the back when he wants to advance his career now that their project has collapsed.

It's a bit different from, say, Modric sitting on a yacht saying he wants off to Chelscum.

I think he has every right.

Team being sold around him, been told to move if he wants to play for France, club in total disarray, he's given them 6 years; there are more than enough reasons why he should be allowed to leave.

You can say 'what if our player did that?' but there's no comparison. All the Saints ITK from yesterday showed a rudderless club, and with options on the table why should he stay?

I don't care what he's tweeted, it's the footballing food chain.

We're much bigger than Soton and if we want their player, he'll likely want us unless he has other options bigger than us. As such, he's willing to do whatever it takes to go and will do. My guess is this'll result with him effectively refusing to play/train or anything else and Soton are left with nothing to do but take what they can get for him now.

It's no different to what players have done to us when United and Real have come knocking for our players.

Get over it. Soton fucked themselves today with that stupid statement from their chairman. He basically confirmed that they'll take whatever we give them or be stuck with a player refusing to play for them. FFS they've sold every decent player they've got and then think they've got a leg to stand on trying to keep Schneiderlin. Batshit crazy.

I don't presume to know what was said to Schneiderlin, but I have to assume he felt betrayed - he only has 80+ tweets to his name. My assumption was that Soton were trying to gain some leverage in the negotiations with Levy, but perhaps not. Maybe they were serious about keeping Schneiderlin - and when he found out he was stuck, he vented a bit. Otherwise, you would have to think they would have told him that they still would sell him on once Spurs met their price.

Or maybe, this is all one big game to show the Soton supporters that the team is trying to keep players, but the players insist on leaving...

Hard to judge without having the full story.they let 70% of his teammates go and could have promised him he could go once the price was met only for his chairman to release not for sale.so I'll reserve judgement.

One big board - agent - player domino effect probably already set beforehand
