I've joined the small recurring donation brigade...

Think of it this way: you buy a magazine every month? Or a newspaper every day? You're paying good money for OLD NEWS.

Here on SC there is FRESH IT K delivered on a non-regular but consistent basis! Plus the sense of community that replaces the real friends you used to have before you were glued to this thread for 16+ hours a day.

SC: a value choice.

I usually donate £5 or £10 every 2 or 3 months, but I think like you I'm going to set up a smaller monthly donation instead. Think it's the way to go.

After all, if this site didn't exist I'd be forced to do some work or even worse talk to my missus.

Speaking as a long-time and regular lurker, I want to apologise for not being able to contribute any cash at present. Things really, really are that tight. I'm self-employed and the past few years have been pretty hellish, and now the work seems to have dried up again. That said, when I can, I will definitely aim to contribute regularly to this fantastic site. But, if it's a case of keeping SC going, even in my position, I'd back a members' annual subscription. It seems wholly unfair that just a few people help Rob keep this place going financially. Sorry, I know it's not really the place for this, but I just wanted to donate something, even if it's only a few words right now.

Agree wholeheartedly.

At least with an annual subscription Rob and his gang of Elves can plan ahead regarding any shortfall or surplus that may or may not be required. It has to be difficult to run SC when income is sporadic at best. Best to have (for example) all members contributing five quid a month than twenty or so donating fifteen quid?

Should a minimum membership subscription be set with each member deciding if they want to donate a little more?

Is it worth putting this to a vote?

As sad as this seems, i log into SC every single day before going into the BBC or red tops, and I for one value SC almost as much as the wife...........................:wideyed:

Five quid a month is a relatively large figure fellow. I live in a country where one pound is $190. Third World Struggles.

No, I'm not. I'm paying money for tits and I don't care how old they are.

Unfortunately I don't buy any of those things. I'd love to pay for this place, but literally don't have the spare most months.

As soon as I do, I'll be donating a wedge.

I don't this is the place to talk about donations. I know you guys mean well and are trying to help out the site but I've just read a bunch of posts where posters seem to be trying to explain why the can't donate. Let's not put anyone on the spot as I'm sure we all donate when we can.

I'm sure Rob and the guys that run this place have looked many different ways to get the cash to keep this place going, so let's leave that to them. (y)
