Im expecting some chat about the squad omissions today in regards to outgoings. ..but if we sold them all I don't actually think we'd be weakened that much. Strong bench and a few youngsters such as Mason and Milo can slot in . Don't get me wrong an MS and fazio and Remy would strengthen first 11 but it does go to show how much fat we need to trim!

Across all of the competitions we will be playing in, if we were to sell a majority of those players and only bring in Fazio, we'd probably be setting ourselves up for failure.

Point accepted! Would be nice if we did strengthen first 11 and develop the kids though - got a good feeling about some of them if we can give them game time!

By saying he can't speak about Welbeck mean there is something in it?? Hope not.

Anyway I'm off to watch some legends of the ITK thread today.

São Paulo v Santos

Kaka, Pereira, Bastos, Fabiano, Pato, Ganzo and my personal favourite Leandro Damiao FFS.

@dcheevers11@HotspurRelated@Nick_Thfc I cannot comment on this one yet.

In other words, we're interested and possibly in talks but it is too sensitive to reveal any details yet.

Not really. Could just as easily mean that JJ hasn't spoken to his source at the club in the last couple of days, so doesn't know if it's speculation or true.

I think it's a case of we have been offered him by his agent & we're still thinking about it along with other possibilities,

I think it was said yesterday that Liverpool had been negotiating for Balotelli for 3 months. Potentially there was some sort of breakthrough with talks and they decided to find an excuse to pull out of the Remy deal. As far as QPR are concerned, Remy is on stupid money. Frankly I wouldn't want us paying him £80k per week either!

What do you want to pay for a goal every two games striker, food stamps?

A good result today and some good play but we shouldn't get carried away by beating a very poor QPR at home comfortably. We were given a lot of time and space and they offered little threat. The one weakness we showed even then was aerially in defence at corners, but whilst we can be happy at a good result we will face much stronger opposition than today and will generally be denied that much time and space and have to cope with that much more goal threat than today

That's a bit of an odd comment to make - is there no middle ground between food stamps and £80k a week?

Having just returned from the game, I am deliriously happy, you should be too mate! Oh and btw Remy was total sh1te!

To me, the Welbeck to Spurs wouldn't be that bad a deal tbh.

Not sure why, but it seems Soldado could be slightly down the pecking order (which is a shame), or it's just Poch using his squad effectively with matches coming up.

However, Welbeck has some skill, and is probably best up the very top, but seeing as he hasn't scored too many goals, in Poch's formation/style, we have 4 interweaving attackers who should all be skillful, be able to pass, play quickly, have pace... so maybe not completely unsuited to us or the style.

I made that comment before the game and see your concerns off the back of it.

If we shifted today's omissions in Dawson, Sandro, Vlad, Townsend and Paulinho(can't decide) and bring in MM/Fazio, MS/Song and one of Remy/Welbeck/Martial I'd say it would be one of our best windows - balance and additions who can really push the first 11 forward! It seems a bit far fetched but you just never know with Levy. I'm excited for the season ahead at least.

I think he could be a fantastic addition. What I loved about him in the World Cup was his workrate. He has the pace on counter attacks, can link and hold up well and scores goals. His age, HG status and defensive qualities would push him ahead of Remy for me...Martial the kid at Monaco and J Rodriquez are the other two good options for us - if Townsend goes I see us snapping one of these up.

Welbeck words hard and his movement is excellent, he makes space for other attacking players with his runs that pull defenders out of position

My concern is his goal scoring record itself has not been great although if we do sign him I will be supportive as he's young and his work ethic means he's the type of player who could develop well and thrive under a manager like Poch in the type of system he will likely implement

Could also help other players improve

I'm not expecting it to happen, nor would it be the move I want but if it does happen I won't be against it and it wouldn't surprise me if he proved a success much like Sturridge did for Liverpool having been less effective at clubs like Chelsea and City
