It would seem to me that Trix, Ali Z and Breezer's information is pretty significant. If Townsend can't follow instructions then I can't imagine Pochetinno will tolerate him and it makes sense that he's been used just a bit so far to help boost his value in the transfer market.

We all seem perplexed as to why we might sell a young English "talent", and this would answer it. It makes perfect sense why he's feeling like a fringe player and why we have made him available. Thanks all

Could have gone for £9-10m two years ago. Since then he has got even older, hit the 30 barrier where a players value drops, and form-wise (tactics or not) has struggled. Now we have to make do with £3m.

Yeah, thanks Daws...

He IS English, but not that young any more and talent is still up for discussion. Townsend is not my favourite player all though I try to point this out as seldom as I can. However, I am happy with all and any ITK linking him away for a handsome fee.

Just as we'll he did stick around he was very good in AVB's first season so much so he held up his hands and admitted he had been wrong in thinking of selling him and the club gave him a new three year contract. Even last season when all the defence were having mares it was just as well we still had Daws because with Kaboul not fit, Chiriches struggling to adapt to the PL and Verts being moved to LB because we lacked any cover and Rose was injured we would have struggled even more

So yeah big thanks Daws

With the news that Fazio is just about tied up I am at a loss. It seems like we had some joined up thinking this window. Two Cb's, a LB, a RB and a goalkeeper. Not the Spurs way at all

Or we could have just played Velhkovic or one of the kids who wouldn't have been any more shambolic than Dawson was.

I don't actually recall AVB saying he made a mistake trying to sell Dawson, do you have the quotes ?

Thing is. If he had sold Dawson maybe he wouldn't have had such a major Role in every single one of AVBs thrashings. I wonder if AVB ended up wishing he'd sold him after all now ?

Just in case A&C thinks is is straying a little from the pure itk path (though sure he won't as he's allowed the eulogising love for Dawson posts), I'll sweeten it by putting my money where my mouth is and pledging another £20 when this donkey deal is stamped !

Here you go

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...dmits-mistake-trying-sell-Michael-Dawson.html

In fact if you type the words AVB, Dawson, and Mistake into Google (or actually Bing as I'm in work) this is the list of links you get and there's plenty to choose from.

http://www.bing.com/search?q=avb dawson mistake&src=ie9tr

And singling Dawson out for any of those thrashings is a joke. The whole fucking team were shambolic under AVB which firmly points the finger of blame at the then manager IMO.

I still think j rod and ms will arrive this window, apparently the Southampton hierarchy are furious at the fitness team for posting a video of how well and how sharp j rod is looking during rehab. They realise they are very vulnerable because of contract situation and various clubs looking to swoop

More than just us keen on him then?

Did anyone here read the 1st post in this thread?

I usually skip it due to the toilet humour regularly contained within. Why, was there something we missed?

(just kidding, I read it, laughed and have been a good boy)

Yes, it was a lot about a small boy telling some other boys off and making obscene referrals to their mum.
see i must have read it differently, i read it as if you stray off the theme ie media links, playing styles, last seasons games, generally anything not directly linked to the itk then you will be crying as A&C will twat you out of this part of the forum

Well you have no idea how Velkhovic might have performed, but you could have equally replaced any of our defenders last season everyone was shambolic, although things could have been worse

As for the thrashings under AVB maybe if we had sold Verts he wouldn't have had a major role in the thrashings he played in or Kaboul. To be fair on Daws in those games there were far more guilty parties than Daws so major role is wrong

I guess when players have a poor season by their standards managers always wonder but I guess AVB probably might have wondered if he should have sold a few others ahead of Daws
