Maybe we were spoiled by the CL nights etc but because of them we expect nothing less than CL or at least come extremely close to qualifying for it, i know i do
Two hours left so I am still holding out that we have last minute attempts for our targets as suggested in some of the ITK. It's been a pretty good window in strengthening the squad but we could use a couple of quality signings to keep up with others

we lose one game against a team that finished 2nd last year and suddenly we need a whole new team.

people need to relax and just see what our new manager can do with our team!! give him time to properly work with our current squad. we have a whole new defence, which is a bonus

Ultimately we needed 4 players this window: A LB signed which I'm happy enough with. A CB signed who is unproven. A CM who can get hold of games which isn't going to happen. A CF who will score 20+ goals which isn't going to happen.

This has not been a good window as far as the XI is concerned.
This window wasn't about signing those players, we have those players. This was about shoring up the squad and cutting out some dead weight.

I love how all the usual suspects jump on any rumour and twist it to suit their nnegative view of Levy/Spurs.

We are then 11th richest club in the world. We have qualified for CL only once!.. No net spend again.. In fact 7m under based on this window unless something happens.. Campbell, rasiak, nelson, Saha, ...I'm so sick of it.. Pay the extra and get JR and MS or tell us the money is to pay off the stadium ..give us a reason levy! ... Back your manager!

As far as I'm concerned that's fucking brilliant. Our squad's got stronger, we've trimmed the fat, and somehow we've turned a profit! The only reason for concern would be if the shareholders were taking the profit out of the club, or if they were planning on investing it in something daft. Neither is the case, in fact we're generating profit to invest in making us stronger which means our ambitions have a better chance of being achieved.

Frankly if folk have trouble understanding this then they should ask themselves whether they really have the insight or the smarts to be commenting. I'd liken it your kid trying to offer an opinion on the way you manage the household finances.

You make a fair point and one in any other aspect of life I would agree with, but surely yesterdays match is an illustration that whilst this is admirable, we lack something considerable in certain areas, and quite frankly a football club is not an FTSE 100 organisation to maximise profits, it is a form of entertainment and Spurs up until the last decade were pioneers in the transfer market from Greaves to Ardiles to Waddle to Gazza to Klinnsmann to Ginola - We have always invested to capture the imagination of the nation, this is now lost! Yes we have to balance the books, save for the stadium etc. etc. but if your product is shit you will loose in the long run!

Given up hope of anyone now tbh

Levy and Lewis have different expectations to the fans, until we get new owners we are nothing but a cash cow for Lewis' yachts

Yesterday killed us didn't it, got shown up again and more proof we are nowhere near the likes of Liverpool, even on our patch we got owned AKA last season. Let's be honest we all got fooled by a good pre season and a good victory over qpr.... We are asking poch to deliver with the same under achieving bunch who were outplayed and out thought yesterday. He's a very coach but we are hoping and praying aren't we, all ifs and buts. He hasn't been backed as far as I'm concerned and we will suffer this season. We have been here before all very fucking boring now

Really?

How is it any worse than selling Bale to Real and then Real turning around and selling Ozil to Arsenal?

Just because we didn't sign a big name doesn't mean you have to act melodramatic. This is a successful window simply because we didn't end up selling off our best players.

that's because it's the first time in years we haven't had a player of similar quality to Modric/Berbatov/Bale/Carrick etc.

No attacking players in will make us significantly weaker after selling Siggy and Holtby

We spent £100m on players last summer and it didn't work and people moaned.

Now people want us to do it again.

The squad is good, young, versatile and talented.

Time for the Manager to work with it!!
and the teams that finished in front of us have gone out and spent money on 1st class players world beaters if you will. Spurs have bought no 1st team players ( maybe Fazio will be a partner with Verts this season) Dier might come good but we will sell him in 3 years.
we want our manager to take the team that ended the year 6th with a few depth signings and take it to 4th not very likely
and Man U won't be ending the year behind us this year so I'm thinking 6th is the best we can do. i just hope we can win the EL and get into the CL that way

It was only ever going to be Welbeck or J-Rod & quite obviously we're sticking to J-Rod either now or January.

Why people expected some kind of big deals today...
