Yep completely a
The most ridiculous thing about this moaning is that if we'd equalised on Saturday with Ade or Chadli's chances, and held the game to a 1-1, hell, even got beaten 3-1 in the end, there wouldn't be half as much dramatics here.

Did you all watch the game?

Was it not clear that there's a different mentality. We were physically outplayed by a Liverpool team who are playing to a system remarkably similar to ours. They had some underwhelming players in their side and a few players who are truly impressive.

We are very similar. What we don't have is the experience in our players of playing under their manager. That team that lost to Liverpool yesterday was a world away from the one that lost last year.

Anyone that thinks we're in for more of the same this year is mistaken. I saw a Spurs team that were making mistakes, but I didn't see a lack of commitment. We'll be fine this year. I saw enough against QPR to suggest we'll be blowing teams away in a few months and going toe to toe against the teams around us in a much more equal fashion.

We've a good squad. It would be nice to strengthen, but we're not in bad shape in anyway whatsoever.
Don't see
They're building us a fucking stadium and built us one of the best training grounds in the world. Is that not ambition?

I'll miss Sandro as much as the next person, but let's not pretend like there aren't a huge amount of question marks in regards to his fitness and his ability at this point. I also felt his technique was not nearly as good as it once was, which may come back in time, but with Capoue and Stambouli we now have two capable DMs. 10m for Sandro, while it hurts my heart, is not what will make this a bad window for us.

Very disappointed to lose Sandro, and keep Lennon and Townsend. Not adding to the squad in the attacking sense is also crazy

Palace fans reckon that if we get an 'Italian based attacker' in, they will be getting Kane on loan. Dunno where they are getting that from.

Sorry but can't see how any fan can be happy with this window. The best news we had was Lloris signing a new deal. He must be seriously regretting that decision.

Moutinho please - here's Dempsey

Hulk - here's Chadli

Mussachio - here's fazio

Schneiderlin - here's French guy

Smallest net spend in he PL in last 5 years. An embarrassment. Cancer of Enic and Lewis driving us further away from the top. 3 seasons of falling behind.

I symapthise with this, but ultimately the proof is in the pudding and that pudding is the new stadium and I can excuse the low net spend on that basis.

I do think mistakes have been made though. Primarily, buying too many average players and ending up with a bloated squad instead of buying fewer, better players and giving our youth players more of a chance. There was no need to buy Chadli, Capoue, Sigurdsson, Dempsey etc. etc. when we had people such as Bentaleb and Kane ready to make the breakthrough. We could've used that money on a player the manager really wanted. Shame. We've done it again this window though.

Trimmed a bloated squad have we? Believed ITK as gospel did you? Shame.

Glad Stambouli's in. I would have liked Welbz but not essential for me - more the FM generation craving a signing than anything else.

How football has changed eh?

If we loan out Kane and then mystery Italian based attacker does not materialise - I'm going full Drexl, and everybody knows you never go full Drexl

Remember that it's probably is Poch who wanted Sandro out, so don't give Levy the blame for that too.

And fuck, I'm going to miss our beast.

Was just thinking the same.

I really am starting to think all these decisions are beyond footballing ones.

Very disillusioned at the moment.

Depends on how you look at. I think siggy and holtby are effective number 10's, but not so great on the left/right hand side of that formation.

In the number 10 position, eriksen , lamela are our current first choices, and even paulinho could play there (Seems to be quite effective as a lampard goal poacher). We had a lot of players fighting for position.

So for me it makes sense to keep the wingers who are more accustomed to play on the right hand/left hand side of that attacking three behind the striker. If chadli or lamela get injured, we really need lennon or townsend to fill that gap, or if we change formation to force a result (say 4-4-2)

2-3 years ago Sandro was a top midfielder, since his comeback from a major injury he has looked a shadow of the player he once was
This. Add to this the fact that he only has two years left on his contract, meaning you either have to sell or renew the contract. Will miss his personality though...

I'm just amazed that we get in a manager who's track record is working with modest resources and small squads, working with what we have got and improving what is there already (particularly the young players) and not asking for a boatload of players to be brought in... And then a majority go in to meltdown when he seemingly carries on with approach with us. What were you expecting? :ROFLMAO: He's going to stick to what he knows and its not all going to be fixed overnight.
