Bollocks. Well, again a transfer window where the manager is let down and we allow a gap to widen.

Another season of trying against the odds.

Slightly despondent.

It was always going to be like this today. We had a bloated squad and a few threads pointed out the numbers that would need to leave just to incorporate the incoming players.

We still have Disco Benny and whotshisface....khumalo on the books.

And there is still a question mark over whether Mason will be part of the squad.

After numerous windows of stockpiling players in the hope it will generate another superstar we have been bitten on the arse because we can't shift the players who have been settled. Ie Lennon, Townsend, and even Dawson dragged his heels.

Exactly!! Its a travesty to see the decline of spurs since enic took over. We were regularly challenging for the league and now we've been reduced to regular european appearences
funny that 3-4 years ago we had so much potional and now its 1 step back or a stand still and 2-3 steps forwards for our "rivals" for top 4

One first team starter signed and even he was a clear plan B. I'm excited to see Fazio play to be fair but no other first team additions is ridiculous.

I would love a statement from the club what they expect the manager to achieve this season, when he gets hardly any backing in the transfer market. It is the same old story and I'm starting to side with the ENIC haters. They do seem in it for the money now. If they come out and said that the reason we don't spend any money in the market as it is paying for the stadium and this is how much we have raised and this is how much we need, then I would bite the bullet. Yet when our biggest transfer of the summer is a swap deal for Siggy I'm worried. We will continue to fall further behind the top six teams. Even Everton have spent money this year and we finished below them. I think that ENIC have taken this club as far forward as they can and I think they should look to sell now.

Can't help think the mood would be different if we had signed all of davies, dier, BS, yedlin, Fazio and Vorm tonight. Fair enough there was no superstar striker etc but to be honest if a crooked Falcao and Danny Welbeck were the best out there then we can hardly complain.

Agreed mate. The mood would be different if it was a week earlier too, off the back of spanking QPR and seeing the early signs of Poch's style coming through. As well as those you list we also signed Lloris and Vertonghen to new contracts this summer.

we lose one game against a team that finished 2nd last year and suddenly we need a whole new team.

people need to relax and just see what our new manager can do with our team!! give him time to properly work with our current squad. we have a whole new defence, which is a bonus

Exactly. We still have an abundence of midfielders that have hardly featured (Paulinho, Dembele, Paulinho, Stanbouli) that Poch can work with and try to adapt to his liking as well as continuing to develop Lamela and Chadli and trying to get the best out of Eriksen. I will say I don't think we're as strong as we need to be to strongly go against the top 4 teams but with the need to clear out so many players I don't think we were ever going to get all that we need in this window to be as strong as those teams.

There are things that if I think we definitely need if we do want to move up to that next level, like a central playmaker, striker and a winger but I'm honestly happy for Poch to work with what he has at least up until January where we can reassess.

It's not a terrible window. It's just being destroyed again at home by pool even without suarez makes many feel that the squad is poor.

If we won that game no one would care too much

I'll miss Sandro as much as the next person, but let's not pretend like there aren't a huge amount of question marks in regards to his fitness and his ability at this point. I also felt his technique was not nearly as good as it once was, which may come back in time, but with Capoue and Stambouli we now have two capable DMs. 10m for Sandro, while it hurts my heart, is not what will make this a bad window for us.

Capoue is not as good as Sandro. He was bypassed at the weekend off the ball and couldn't get near the Liverpool strikers.

Really?

How is it any worse than selling Bale to Real and then Real turning around and selling Ozil to Arsenal?

Just because we didn't sign a big name doesn't mean you have to act melodramatic. This is a successful window simply because we didn't end up selling off our best players.
Ok mr. steel city

We all knew bale was gone but the ozil thing was random tbh.

Trimmed a bloated squad have we? Believed ITK as gospel did you? Shame.

Glad Stambouli's in. I would have liked Welbz but not essential for me - more the FM generation craving a signing than anything else.

How football has changed eh?

Maybe... maybe the FM generation don't fancy seeing Lennon/Townsend turning out for us any more and Wellbeck would have been one step closer to that.. We have trimmed the bloat, as was definitely needed - there's still some left though - and questions do have to be asked about how we so regularly bloat and then purge.

Er no, more like craving a few signings we need after getting raped by a good side, again! We wanted MS, MM and a forward thinking player and ended up with Fazio, a French guy who may or may not take to the PL and a load of second choice players. Not good enough. Not to mention an £11m profit.

But that's the times were at, people on forums fabricating reasons as to why fans are upset.

How football's changed eh?

Depends on how you look at. I think siggy and holtby are effective number 10's, but not so great on the left/right hand side of that formation.

In the number 10 position, eriksen , lamela are our current first choices, and even paulinho could play there (Seems to be quite effective as a lampard goal poacher). We had a lot of players fighting for position.

So for me it makes sense to keep the wingers who are more accustomed to play on the right hand/left hand side of that attacking three behind the striker. If chadli or lamela get injured, we really need lennon or townsend to fill that gap, or if we change formation to force a result (say 4-4-2)

Don't agree mate.

Even Chadli was saying it was like three number tens interchanging behind the striker.

Sig and Holtby are a lot more suited than Lennon and Townsend.

(although I'm glad we kept Lennon)
