It is to sell us a get a return on their investment though, you do realise that? Success isn't their motivation, profit is, success helps with the profit though

Yes, but they've got to realise that any potential investors whom may want to purchase the club will think that's nice, you've a state of the art training ground and stadium, but the stadiums only ever 2/3s full and the team is full of average wannabes scrapping for a top 10 finish. Whereas the club as a whole would be a much more attractive proposition if ENIC invest in the team and keep competing for a top 4/5 place finish.

The gap between us and the top 4-5 gets bigger. The gap between us and the mid table sides got smaller. Great job, Daniel.

think a few managers have said that they prefer even smaller squads than what the regulations let you have.

Poch must be the same and wants a more compact team to work with.
Don't know how to include Marki spurs post which is similar to yours so this reply to both. I'm sure your right in that Poch wants to work with a smaller squad but there has been no improvement in quality of player. This need for improvement has been recognised by the majority of the regular (sensible) contributers so we have not improved ourchances of competing. Not a pop, just an observation.

I don't think the owners of Man City would agree with you there.

I'll miss Sandro as much as the next person, but let's not pretend like there aren't a huge amount of question marks in regards to his fitness and his ability at this point. I also felt his technique was not nearly as good as it once was, which may come back in time, but with Capoue and Stambouli we now have two capable DMs. 10m for Sandro, while it hurts my heart, is not what will make this a bad window for us.
If it's £10 mill, that sweetens the pill.
There is no smoke without fire and both Tim and MoPo didn't rate him enough.

Capoue is not as good as Sandro. He was bypassed at the weekend off the ball and couldn't get near the Liverpool strikers.

Neither are very good.

Sandro is not a disciplined player, and you absolutely have to be to play that position. He makes rash and wild decisions. You wouldn't catch Mourinho playing Sandro.

More assumption that the deals not getting done (the ones based on little more than hearsay) is down to us.

Bunch of victims the lot of you.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

I think maybe January will be a time where we try again for a couple that we missed out on (MS, JR) I am a little bit disappointed that we did not sign one player in an attacking position of quality but also the market this summer has been twisted the fuck up by Liverpool and Man U chucking money around like no other year i can remember.

Not sure why we bother with this overdraft thingy on the TDD, Levy could save himself some money and not bother with it.

Since April we've been hearing that Levy and Baldini want a Striker and/or LWF.

5 months on and they have achieved neither.

Epic fail.

Hardly. All Ive heard is we were after some defenders and that Poch was generally happy with the squad, bar MS and JR, who we will go for in Jan. Obviously we had a bit of interest in the likes of Wellbeck but lets not assume we were desperate to get a striker in. It just suits many to think that, in spite of the information you have been given.

It's not a terrible window. It's just being destroyed again at home by pool even without suarez makes many feel that the squad is poor.

If we won that game no one would care too much
sorry can't agree with this, if we had played well and lost people wouldn't be half as worried, it was the fact we looked so lost and clueless in the final 3rd, what did we manage 2/3 chances from long balls against a make shift and untested liverpool back 4.

Regardless of our drama queen fans I believe Pochettino will be happy with the squad he has and believe he can do great things with them. If he can get that extra 10% out of the players and get them playing as a team we'll go a long way. I remember the same negative comments when we had Harry in charge and yet we finished 4th twice. The attitude of the players suggests they all believe in him and what he is trying to do so our fans would do well to follow.
