Well they've got an October deadline to make their formal interest know so that'll be an indicator.

I suspect there's not much in this but it'll certainly be interesting to keep an eye on.
Yeah, I think my view is they will reach the parameters of a deal, even if the details need to be ironed out, before that deadline, or they will announce they are walking away. This won't be something that drags out over the fall. It took about two weeks to sell the basketball team LA Clippers for $2B...if Guggenheim want Spurs, they will get Spurs in the next few weeks.

As long as the new owners come in and pay for the stadium, I don't mind who they are.

£400 million to buy off Lewis and £400 million to build the stadium means any new purchasers would be looking at around £800 million initial investment cost but that would obviously be recouped by the prospect of higher revenue being generated and TV money rising.

i think this has more legs then most people think it has ;) the tipping point will be whether Lewis and Levy want to sell

This would be a very interesting situation.

To me i wouldn't expect a sale of any kind before a stadium is built (really would be surprising if it happened before the ground was even broken), when the value of the club would be (presumably) at it's highest....

However, Cain Hoy (and by extension the Guggenheim Group where these guys came from and may be getting some financial backing from) are very much the type of people that i could see trying to make a run at buying the club.

Cain Hoy (from the very little out there about them) aren't Mansur, they aren't Roman, they aren't Vincent Tan, Assem Allam or the Venky's.

These guys have the look of VERY, VERY serious investors who come out of the Levy/Lewis (or FSG for that matter) school of business. These guys are don't look to have the streak of Oligarch with a new plaything or foreign madman (a la Tan/Venkys) anywhere on them. These guys look like they are hard core businessmen who see a very high potential for return on an investment.

Truth be told, we are (love it or hate it) built by shrewd businessmen to maximize their investment and the result is we are an exceptionally enticing option for shrewd investors looking to get into the PL market (based in London, New Stadium, new training ground, solid academy, competitive at top half of table on a budget, marketing inroads laid in APAC/NAM etc.)....we are effectively a "plug and play" club, only thing a new owner would have to worry about is the financing of the stadium, spending on the squad as they see fit and growth of the overseas revenue. Comparatively easy tasks when put against a club like Villa at the moment.

What i am curious about is (if this is all true), would they look for a full takeover OR would they be looking to buy out Uncle Joe's stake? Joe is 77 years old and i don't think has set foot in the UK any time in recent memory, would certainly get a huge profit if he were to sell....Levy and the Cain Hoy (and Guggenheim Group) all seem to be cut from the same cloth....a situation where Levy (and his minority stake) is brought in with the Cain Hoy group resulting in a similar setup but with a bit more funding available is an intriguing prospect.

Not sure how I feel about this.

Always been a massive fan of Levy and Lewis, but a takeover could potentially see the stadium process speed up.

Obviously we wouldn't be able to throw money at players like City and Chelsea do and have. But I've never been a big fan of the way they do that anyway and I wouldn't like to see it happen here. I want us to win the Premier League as much as the next Spurs fan but I wouldn't want other fans saying we 'bought' the title like Chelsea and City.

The way he club is run now is excellent, but if a takeover meant a new stadium quicker, and potential success the pitch without spending huge amounts, I'd be happy. I'd be disappointed to see Levy go, he's done so much for the club, but that would all be forgotten about should we win a couple of league titles and become a consistent challenger in high CL.

Regarding the Tottenham statement, I think they worded it very cleverly. They aren't in any discussions at the moment but that's because Cain Hoy are considering a bid- once they make the bid they will be in discussions...

i thought that was a rumour?......if anything Joe actually being in country would make me think the story of a possible sale has even more legs to it.

He isn't one to just pop in for no reason after all....

Also didn't say 'the club is not for sale at any price'.

Not really sure how it would speed up the stadium process.

Me no likey. Would rather a stupid-rich arab. Don't wanna get Glazered.
Whats wrong with the Glazers ? Man Utd have won numerous titles under their ownership. Thats what its all about surely. And now thy`ve hit a sticky patch, they`ve gone and chucked a couple of hundred million dollars at strengthening the team. Dont seem like bad owners to me.
