Agree - and I want to see him crossing it. It does seem though that under AVB and Poch the wide players are under instruction to cut in and have a dig. That's fine in small doses but Townsend has got the crossing/shooting ratio all wrong. Unfortunately Lennon just looks lost in attacking play now (although had worked hard defensively again).

He's done more going forward than everyone else combined. I'm not even taking his shot for Soldado's goal into consideration but we've been so lacklustre going forward except for the energy of Townsend.

I agree. It was good reactions but apart from the goal its been very average tonight. Arsenal away, where we will likely be under the cosh at times and need a bit of presence and the ball to stick up there, I don't think is the game for him.
