The Arsenal forums are great entertainment at the moment. I'm thoroughly pleased we have ruined the weekend for so many of their fans. They're truly depressed by it all. :ROFLMAO:

Oh.... and they're away to Chelsea next week.

It's been a far better day than I expected and I'm gonna enjoy. Up yours Wenger!

A 15 year old arsenal fan game me the wanker sign when I left the pub. I consider that a personal victory.

Chadli, Lamela, Mason with Soldado being serviced. I want this.

:eek::LOL:

But yes, i'd love that poor bugger to get a game with some actual service. Smartly intercepting a Townsend hit-and-hope does not count. If today doesn't get Ade dropped....I just don't know what will.

Today may not have been pretty, but I think it was important. We were tenacious, organised and dedicated. These are not traditional Spursy things. This is a great launching point.

Anybody else find that one so tense they're still having trouble unclenching bits of themselves, by that way?!

A well earned point.

Defensively we were simply brilliant. The whole back four worked there socks off also Lloris was as always mr reliable. Kaboul FINALLY rolling back the years. I really hope he kicks on from now on. And also pochettino must leave Vertonghen in from now on too.

Now if only we were more composed going forward we really could of hurt arsenal. Adebayor was unbelievably poor, he must get dropped. Kept thinking how it would of been if Soldado with his brilliant link up play would of been so good going forward.

We can definetly take plenty of pluses from this game. A lot of people were not confident and had all my dumb gooner friends going for 5-0 5-1 wins.

Arsenal were nothing special at all and all we gotta do is really kick start our season with the same passion and grit we showed today.

What did Adebayor do what was so wrong? He was generally the lone striker and he held up the ball, had some runs down the wing and got a header and shot on target. Am I missing something? Or is he just the one that people want to hate today?

Just got back from watching the game at a Mexican restaurant over a plate of huevos rancheros (mmm!) so apologies if you've covered this, but what do you make of the complete absence of pressing? Has Poch decided he doesn't have the squad to press or has he gone to a Mourinho-like tactical pragmatism that he'll use from game to game?

Good to see Kaptain Kaboom in good form for this one.

The game plan was to sit deep tonight, congest those central areas in front of our box and defend well, and counter when we can.

So a high press wasn't really the strategy this evening.

I guess he's altered his approach as we needed improvement.

Massive credit to Poch tonight.

My main issue was just how disinterested and disconnected he looked. He wasn't looking for the ball, his first touch was appalling and he just seemed so...meh. We really needed him to be proactive today as an outlet for the limited opportunities we had and he wasn't. I was really surprised considering how up for these derbies he normally is.

Oh come on mate are you being serious?

The problem with ade is all there to see. I honestly felt we were playing with ten men at times.

He is meant to be our focal point of attack but through out the game he was very ineffective. Very slow to react when the ball comes to his feet and when it does he decision making was not good.

He did work hard in terms of work rate in the second half but that should come automatically for a striker.

I would easily hold my hands up if he had a good game but over the past few weeks his been evidently lethargic. I always back any player at spurs but with adebayor im slowly running out of patience because I'm not seeing any improvements in his game.

Maybe he needs a rest but i feel he needs to be dropped so he can see that there is competition for places and maybe that can kick start his campaign.

Was he just being restrained as he didn't want to get sent off again. With the way Oliver reffed the match he could have and some of the yellows he gave were laughable!

That argument might hold water if he had slowed down after the ref got card happy but he didn't get going at all.

There's restrained and then there's narcoleptic.;)

But that reffing WAS ridiculous - cannot believe he booked Chadli for that celebration. What an absolute plum.

I watched the Liv v Eve match and Gerrard did exactly the same thing. The commentators creamed themselves saying how he was fighting back against his detractors. Chadli does it and he's inciting the crowd!!

I asked my contact about Verts and Poch: apparently, no problem. Also, he looked injured, the left thigh affected.

I have heard from a few people with contacts that there has been some problems and that the injury rumours were just to cover up. Who knows, you hear so many contradicting stories, however seeing as he played today and midweek at least it suggests that there is no ongoing injury probs and better still the last three games he has played he has started to look far more up for it than he did last season and earlier this.
Our defence, though hardly perfect looked a lot more like a defensive unit than simply the kind of four spare pricks at a wedding that it has looked like up till today
Quite honestly if there was a fall out maybe it was needed and it's had a positive effect

Fazio is right footed but played on the left for Sevilla i believe!

Mostly he played on the left, but I seem to recall a couple of times he played on the right, to be honest I can't say I ever really noticed his preferred foot maybe that suggests he's not quite as one footed as some players

Not bad overall we did look toothless at times going forward , sat to deep and brought upon a lot of pressure upon our
ourselves giving the ball away quit cheaply and getting caught in procession a number of occasions .
