Have to say around us in East lower tonight was some serious bitterness towards Levy about the direction of the club etc and some slating poch for being avb in his football sideways sideways and backwards.
But i have to say We need to give him more time to see what he can do at least until the end of the season although his work will be hindered by the players he wants he wont get just be given cheaper alternatives.
I have to say taking off soldado was a bad decision as his Touch and general all round play was good and his head went down when he walked off felt sorry for the fella.
Lloris was magnificant again how much longer can We keep him not much i would suspect he needs a better club than this one which competes at the top again not us.

Did you see the punch up in the East Lower after the Besiktas goal? I thought some Turks got into our end as they looked middle eastern but after what you said i'm wondering now.

I think some people are over-reacting a bit. Our reserve team went up against a pretty good team who are quite possibly CL material. It was always going to be a tough game and I didnt actually think we would win this.

The game as a whole, yes I thought we lacked invention at times but we all know we do. We created two or three decent chances though for Kane and pretty much all the players worked hard and battled away. We even saw tracking back and tackling from the likes of Townsend ffs.

The effort was there, it was just the last 20 mins. We looked exhausted, dropped deep and couldn't keep the ball at all. We didn't deserve to win, but a draw isn't a disaster.

Agree with this - massive over reaction.

But Cliriches is shit - I'm sold. I now want Dier in this role and a kid as right back and Chliriches never ever near our team again. Ever

A noticeable anti ENIC feeling around WHL tonight. Definitely getting more and more prevalent. Lots of fans now starting to question there commitment and lack of investment. Clouds and silver linings eh. Glad to say support for Poch is strong though.

Really ? Nothing from me in Paxton lower. In fact club and fans are all a bit meh over this stage of the comp

It's still early days but I've got to say I'm pretty disappointed. Yes, we should be beating Besiktas at home but what's particularly bad is that we were outplayed by them, as we were by West Brom and Liverpool - that's three of our last 4 home games. The Forest game wasn't too convincing either.

I wouldn't put the blame on Pochettino because it takes time to get a side playing the way you want. The problem is that there is a lack of quality in our squad. We have decent players but they're all much-of-a-muchness. We'll finish and perform as we did last season for one simple reason - we have the same quality of players. Good managers and an effective philosophy will only take you so far. Relegation teams can finish mid-table with a good manager. But the gulf in quality between 5th/6th and 3rd is far greater. You need world-class players to bridge that gap. Our world-class players buggered off a while ago now.*

Besiktas should have beaten Arsenal. They are a great side.
I blame MoPo.
He is not treating this competition with respect.

The one encouraging thing from speaking to other spurs fans is that we seem to agree Poch had time and will need time to put this right. So many changes needed and system to be instilled. So many of our players just don't appear to have the skill or aptitude to adapt his style.
Now, please don't take this as a dig fella but I'm getting a bit narked off with this whole 'system' bollocks.
I really don't see anything different to what we were doing under AVB, there is a 'high press' which we do in fits and starts but for the majority of a game we are too narrow and worry about the opposition as opposed to concentrating on our strengths.
It's almost like there is this belief that we have to play some half baked barca system in order to succeed as opposed to actually taking the bull by the horns and actually trying to hurt the opposition from kick off

Mixed performance tonight. I would have liked us to have more control on the game especially when one up. Saying that I though besiktas were very good and never gave us the time too.

I think slowly the players are understanding there roles and with more games they will learn when to press and when to contain. Whilst the ethic was there we did seem like headless chickens at times.

Defensively, chiriches especially we were shit tonight. Back four and the midfield didn't do enough to help shut up some pretty easy besiktas attacks.

Pluses, I thought Townsend played well. Played more as a team player. Stambouli improved as the game went on. Soldado and Kane great as well.

For the first time I'm actually depressed at the thought of losing lloris. World class.

When we appointed Pocchetino we all said we'd give him time. He himself was quoted as saying that it can take 6-12 months to implement his system and get a squad he is happy with.

Personally I think tonight was a decent result for our change XI, Besiktas were a good team. However, those who want immediate results are fooling themselves - it won't happen overnight.

I know we all want immediate success but give him time!

There were so many changes tonight from last Saturday to expect a smooth, coherent display was expecting too much. That said I thought we were strong and put in alot of enegry and effort, and after the first 15 minutes or so came back into the game well. Kane was excellent and took his goal really well.

The only bummer for me was that cretinous hand ball by Chiriches. I have now come to the opinion that we should let him go, he does play the ball very skillfully, but he just makes too many bad mistakes. I accept that he doesn't have a regular partner at the back, but the hand ball was a really bad, personal error of judgement in the heat of the moment. The characteristic can't be trained out of him. For me it's a case of sell!

It's early days and our reserves should be beating CL teams.
This is what's wrong with our fan base.
Unrealistic expectations.

Heres something to ponder, when he plays with lamela (who is on his wave length) he scores every 94 min.
Give him a run with lamela, Chadli and Erickson I bet he scores.
This is the only area I'm not on the same page as the manager. Lamela, Chadli, Eriksen, Soldado has to be our preferred front 4 and given a run of games.

So you're suggesting that we shouldn't play with a system?
