Can anybody who booed Adebayor explain why they booed him?

I have made an opinion on what I have read and heard. That is all I have to go on.

sure - but you would say you truly have a balanced view of what the guy is like based on what you read in the (mostly) tabloid newspapers?

Its not like he has been sleeping with other players wives or scamming people or has really done anything that bad that warrants him being boo'd for who he is as a person or his general attitude - especially when there are conflicting stories about a lot of the goings on at spurs which involves him.

I don't condone booing at all. It's not constructive at all.

There is something about him I don't like.

I'm really off my game today:(

If you really think Ade is only getting booed because he played for the gooners, you haven't been paying attention

I'm obviously talking about Gallas and Ade being lambasted for having one bad game regardless of how many good games they had leading up to that where as others are given the benefit of the doubt.

Everyone appreciated Gallas and Ade when they played well but as soon as they have one bad game they're back to hate figures because of their Arsenal connections. Soldado, Vertonghen, whoever can have a shed load of bad games before they're called into question but it's only one for Gallas/Ade so don't give me this bollocks that every Spurs fan respected him when it's clear they were just happy to win a NLD.

Your defense of him is completely fucking irrational. I've noticed all your posts go to extreme lengths to defend him, its bizarre.

He doesn't deserve some of the stick he's got - anything racial is vile IMO , but what's fucking me off in this whole discussion is that its also the same people defending him when some criticism is definitely fair.

I don;t ever remember Gallas exuding that really casual body language either, looking like he really wasn't bothered at times.

I go further than I want to/should to defend him because there if we're talking about irrational, it's the hatred for Ade. People don't hate Ade because they think he's useless, that's bollocks. He has an ok-decent goal scoring record at Spurs so what is it? People didn't hate Berbatov for looking casual/lazy because he was scoring so it must be something else. Arsenal connection, racism? I don't know, but there is clearly proof that the useless/lazy argument can be disproved.

AGAIN today, huh? This time when he comes on when we're in a winning position

Must have made the lads feel real good, huh? And then we go on to lose 2-1

I am sure the booers and their apologists will say it's because adebayor came on at all that we lost.

I don't think so.

Well you cant argue with facts? We were winning when he came on, 20 minutes later and we're out of the cup

poch didn't do him any favours today chucking him on for soldado who was playing a very good game.

But in all honesty he looked pretty useful when he came on. You can't level rhe capitulation at his door

In the nicest possible way, football fans are made up of people with a wide contrasting level of intelligence, football knowledge and understanding of the human body and that is the reason why Ade will be continually booed. Many in here may not like the bloke but they understand why booing is counter productive yet when I look on other social media platforms, it is clear to see that some of the spurs fans that attend matches are a few fries short of a happy meal.

Interesting points you make there, people made the very same criticisms of Berbs and Freddy before him, Freddy had a very laconic style and large stride which made him look as if he was working far less harder than he actually was, Berbs (and this is my own theory for which I'll probably getted laughed at) had some weird inbuilt sense where he could work out to the nth degree the likelihood he'd win the ball or not and to calculate whether it was worth expending energy or saving it.

I'll buy it that Ade's workrate is far better than it's perceived to be, I realise that his demeanour is laid back and that he may appear to be smiling when he's feeling rotten inside but I simply don't think he's a particularly good footballer, his first touch isn't acceptable and he's not clinical enough in front of goal, he doesn't live up to the hype that surrounds him and it's compounded by the fact that he shouldn't be on social media as much as he is when things aren't going well. There's a small group of footballers who are as well known for making gobshites of themselves on Twitter (Barton, Wilshere, Frimpong) and the like as they for kicking a pig's bladder round and he's one of them.

I still don't boo him though, just think he's a waste.

Didn't really do much, but he wasn't alone in that.

I thought he played ok. Alot of chasing down and was progressive in possession. By that I mean he looked to create rather than play safe when he was in possession. Nothing to complain about at all.

By the second half though, the midfield trio had given up on being bothered to do anything remotely positive. To me the problems today were all from the engine room. No drive at all after the first half, Soldado, Lamela both looked lively and sharp but were getting nothing, likewise Adebayor.

Thought the booing was more audible today, but was in a different part of stadium. Its got a bit pantomime

When he plays we are shit.

That's not opinion. It's fact. Look at his last 3 appearances.

Our season could go very quickly. Very quickly indeed if his ludicrous inclusion is continued.

Apart from Chelsea at home how did we play when he wasn't playing.

Fair enough. I guess he has made himself into a bit of a pantomime character so it's unsuprising some feel that's way
