Im just going to hope the spanish winger the goat bleated about isnt Pedro. Not that I dont want him. I do because I think he would be a great signing. But if it's Pedro...well, you get the picture
Are you insinuating that all Spanish wingers are called Pedro, and making a joke ? If not I'm very confused.

We need improvements in the first XI. Considering we're looking at signing a £20m player in Martial who will be second fiddle to Kane at striker and probably to Chadli as well at LWF with some of the money, it doesnt exactly inspire confidence that whatever is left will be spent better.
Surely if they pay 20m for Martial they would play him? Probably as a LWF? Probably as striker when Kane needs a rest! I cant see them paying that for him and benching him!

He'd obviously play. That's not the point. He likely wouldnt be first XI.

"IF" the fee was 20m there is no way we'd be signing him not to be first 11. Surely the plan would be to play him behind Kane in some capacity and fill in up front when Kane is resting. We're not at the level to make 20m signings for the reserves...

So Hugo this summer, Harry next summer probably, once United feel assured this season wasn't a one off. Its all just so predictable (although I think we've a far greater chance of holding onto Harry, but nothing is guaranteed)

Yes we have our place in the food chain, and we should consider silly money for any player we have, but there comes a point where you have to make a serious stand in terms of selling your best players, and not just for one window either.

We have our own recent experience to draw on, and that of other Clubs - in that its bloody difficult to replace your best players and it can really set you back. These things need to be weighed up very carefully IMO.

Lloris might want to leave if United make a big offer, but he'd be professional enough to get on with things with us if we didn't sanction it.

I honestly don't think we should sell unless it really is an obscene amount of money for a goal keeper. Like smashing the current record.

Difficult to build a 'team' if you keep selling the best players in that core group every year.

Why we would sell anyone to Manure ill never know...
you don't make Top 4 by selling your best players to them.

Spain winger: Cheryshev was rumoured to be off to Liverpool. Seeing as how we have similar player interests, he would be a good guess. I doubt he's going to stay at Madrid.

Jese Rodriguez, Deulofeu, Feghouli...

I love the loose ITK that turns into the plucking names from thin air game that A&C really appreciates.... :cautious:

I think it's utterly absurd how many times a game Lloris has had the chance to show how good a GK he is. He's had to make some easy, some standard and some world class saves due to pathetic defending game after game.

I'm on the side that it would be very disappointing to see him go, and we should seriously be pushing him to PSG but it's not the end of the world.
He is replaceable my only concern is you can comfortably find very good shot stoppers but along with GKs who are quick off their line not so much. Lloris' distribution is very average so that's not a worry.

If we did get say £30m though can we possibly use that not only to replace him but also to sort out our woeful defence so the next GK isn't forced to make save after save after save.

You say he is replaceable but looking back over the years you would have to go a long way back to find when we last had a decent goalie. Lloris is the one guy we don't moan about.
