It's like a bloody morgue. There is and has been no offer. It's not like Bale at all. We were told all along by jj he was gone. He went, and jj has said no about lloris going and I highly doubt judging by us rejecting a higher bid for bale than madrid hat we are gonna roll over for lloris. Levy learnt with berba. Lloris is a very very long way off leaving to anyone. He states he would like champions league football weather that be here at United or elsewhere. He doesn't issue a come and get me plea. He also praises the club fans and "gaffer". Will you lot CHILL THE FUCK OUT. It's the 8th June ffs meltdowns don't happen yet!!

I think people are depressed because this feels a very familiar cycle. It's only early June and we've already gone from "he won't leave" to "it would have to be a massive fee" to "well...yeah, this may well happen". We know how this normally ends.

And it's worse because it's our captain, who seems a pretty universally liked and respected individual. Do we have a replacement in the squad who can step up?

Why do people forget the football food chain? Just like we will buy players from clubs smaller than us, clubs bigger than us will take our players.

Big fleas have little fleas
Upon their backs to bite 'em
And little fleas have lesser fleas
And so on, ad infinitum

And the great fleas, themselves, in turn
Have greater fleas to go on;
While these again have greater still
And greater still, and so on

Good point. Not launching the captain debate in this thread, but.. Come to think of it, the debate would be short, because there are no alternatives.

That's a tad over confident. There is an absolute big and lingering risk Lloris will leave this summer. Acting as it's not is a bit foreign to me, seeing as it's only 8th of June.
No my point isn't saying he is leaving I said nothing is happening at the moment. We get carried away with departures but pessimistic about incomings. Just puzzles me

And that's fine, providing they're not a rival. If Madrid, Bayern or whoever come in with an acceptable bid for Lloris, okey dokey.

United on the other hand? No. Unless its something truly ridiculous. The premium should be, and rightly so, far higher for them.

Because keeping Lloris, if it happens, would be better & more exciting news than signing 5 random 20-year old new & shiny guys we've never heard of for future profit.

Jese Rodriguez, Deulofeu, Feghouli...

I love the loose ITK that turns into the plucking names from thin air game that A&C really appreciates.... :cautious:

What about that young winger from Malaga that we were linked to when Adrian Esparraga joined...Castillejo?

Are we in any way a rival to utd? We won't be making them stringer giving them lloris as de gea is a better keeper

In the current climate we are a rival. Last few seasons we've been close enough. Long gone are the days they were finishing 30 points ahead of us.

I agree 100% mate however lloris hasn't said am off he said things about both sides and if am honest hugo won't kick up a fuss. I think we have more chance of keeping hugo then we did any other. He praises pochettino and doesn't say he wants to leave now to find it. Think it will be one more year.

@Matty-spurs I did chuckle at that.

Here s a pledge I will increase my monthly payment to SC from £10-£20 if he leaves! That's £120 just in case the BSoDL couldn't figure!

In football talk, he couldn't have been clearer that he wants to go to utd

Goalkeeper is the easiest position to fill imo. Neg rate me but I think we would have finished exactly the same this season if Vorm was our number one. Some better training of the defence will make world's of difference to our team, much more than having a top top keeper.

Didn't realize the two options were mutually exclusive.

I don't think we've ever, ever had a transfer story for one of our big players not actually come true once these sort of rumours/press comments start.

It's as inevitable as the rising of the sun. Only ever a matter of time once this starts.

We have to be realistic, we have not won a league in 54 years, we have not won a major trophy (league cup is not a major trophy) in about 20 years, we are a massive club to us fans but in the grand scheme of things we are a production farm for talented footballers, a halfway house to prove themselves that they are ready for a massive club
