Lloris is a great keeper. I will give you that. But I disagree to statements like - If Lloris goes, our team will be affected. Because it won't. End of the day, we need to improve our shoddy defense. If we improve that, any good solid GK should do the job.

If we get close to 30m for Lloris, I would sell him & use the money to buy a solid GK & a signing like Schneiderlin.

The only way MS will be coming here is when Man Ure visit us.

I don't think we've ever, ever had a transfer story for one of our big players not actually come true once these sort of rumours/press comments start.

It's as inevitable as the rising of the sun. Only ever a matter of time once this starts.

Bale to Inter Milan is one example...

And they never will be if we sell them our best players. The point is we are as close as we can be at the moment so they bloody well should be thought of as rivals!

We are not a big club on the global stage though, Man Utd are

Go to China, Africa, Thailand, everyone is wearing Utd shirts, they are probably the single biggest sporting brand in the world even if they have under achieved last couple of years

We have to be realistic, we have not won a league in 54 years, we have not won a major trophy (league cup is not a major trophy) in about 20 years, we are a massive club to us fans but in the grand scheme of things we are a production farm for talented footballers, a halfway house to prove themselves that they are ready for a massive club

But if we ever want to join the big boys we need to halt the selling of stars like Lloris - esp when they're under contract and have no need to sell. We don't have the financial clout to purchase mega stars so when we get one for cheaps we must refrain from cashing in! But hey ho I expected Hugo to go soon, this is THFC :)

That twat as in one of (and very much still) best keepers in prem history twat?

He can't even make the first team. Chelsea wouldn't sell them to us and even Levy isn't stupid enough to buy an over the hill keeper.

Be interesting to see which MLS side pick up his pension entitlement.

We are a project, when we get our new stadium we can hopefully move up to the next level, but until then we have to accept our place in the food chain, Utd even if they narrowly beat us this year have won 15 out of the last 20 titles, we last won a title in 1961, it is natural that a player will want to move to Utd

I think it is fair to believe that Lloris is off. Get your disappointment over with now, but if he stays think of it as a bonus.

We need a balance of youth and experience to come to use this season, youth as either new players coming in or promoted from the academy.

Still, I think, we will start with a completely unbalanced team, with likes of Dembele, Townsend, Vlad... and all the other clueless wonders at our club...

Nice to see that ITK has said that Rose is staying, despite flattering to deceive... "He was one of our better players many times last season" you cry, well just goes to show poor the rest of them have been then.

Just read the Hugo ITK. While not entirely surprising it is getting incredibly tiresome every time we get a half decent player that could take us to the stage where we keep these types of players - again we're faced with breaking the transfer record for the wrong reasons in the interest of THFC's progression.

It is clear to me individuals are not going to be the answer in establishing ourselves as perennial chalengers

But on the pitch?? 4th place, 5th place. It's not like the carrick, berbatov days of ole. Lloris should be made to stay. End of. THFC need to grow a pair and stop this cycle

We have been a project for 10 years and every time and every time we got close to something great, we got screwed over by Levy.

Get CL spot, get Saha in. Get £80 million from Bale, spunk it on a lot players, then don't play them, or play a system or style that fits them, because we have no scout system setup...

To us we are a massive club, to the rest of world football, including players we are not

Realistically if i was a Spurs footballer and Utd came knocking i would walk across hot coals to join them, these are not Spurs fans who stood on The Shelf as kids, they are professional mercenaries without guns, who can really begrudge Lloris a move to a team that has won some 20 titles since our last one?

Levy will squeeze every last penny and more out of them like he did over Berbatov though

You're right about that of course and we cannot come close to matching them in marketing terms, but as you say, they have been underachieving recently and that is where we should be smelling blood. On the pitch!

I get the "food chain" talk. We are where we are. But Jesus, that doesn't have to stop us striving to join the top table. And selling our best players to (points wise) our nearest rivals will just prolong that gap and we will always be the bridesmaids.

Never forget, Audere est Facere

The stadium in theory should have us at the next level, i am not a BSODL but i am prepared to give him time to get this stadium done, we fail post stadium then there is no excuses

In the current climate we are a rival. Last few seasons we've been close enough. Long gone are the days they were finishing 30 points ahead of us.

If we are a serious rival to Man Ure why are there reports that our number one keeper wants to join them?
