Firstly JJ said 'the reasons are not for twitter'
Then he said 'if only you knew'

Given that his source is very high up in THFC that suggests to me that he did not want to criticise Levy and damage the relationship with his source

If it was Athletico that moved the goalposts no reason not to say what happened

Levy would lowball on the price of a packet of wine gums tbh

Or it could equally be something to do with TA off the field that isnt for the public domain or in fact anything else at all.
JJ has never backed off of criticising Levy as far as I recall when he has considered it meited

So Kaboul deffo off- no mention of Chiriches/Fazio though. And intimating that we will bring in another CB.

Verts/ Dier/ Fazio/ Wimmer / Chiriches/ Veljkovich / +1 other- seems a lot.

We like pointlessly over stocking on some positions, whilst leaving ourselves totally unbalanced and short in others. It's our speciality.

To be fair, normally we could have 9 CBs on the roster and it still isn't enough to avoid the traditional "Tottenham injury crisis" that happens twice a year. We are always at least 1 short.

On topic....who has JJ dismissed this summer?

I don't know about anyone else but i'm actually feeling really positive about this window. Love that we've signed Trippier and Alli. Glad we didn't get Ings or Toby. Ecstatic we have sold Paulinho. Thrilled that we actually seem to have a plan and haven't spunked money on expensive players who don't fit in to the team :).

And today's my birthday, so if you are reading this Daniel one of N'jie, Rabiot or Konoplyanka would make a nice present (y).

For me, any more than 4 centre backs suggests a manager doesn't fully trust the options he has available to him. Two players for each position across the park is enough really to cover injuries/suspension, then we have some promising youngsters as well to cover in a crisis, plus a transfer window in the middle of the season if we had a couple of long term injuries.

As I say, I see it as the guy in charge not being fully convinced and knowing what the pecking order is. Five senior centre backs is overkill.

at least 3 of them (Dier, Verts, Chiriches) are pretty versatile and can be full backs too though. So there's that.

That's really disappointing from Poch. Blocking the opportunity for Veljkovic to break through.
That's quite a generalising statement of fact so can you embellish us with facts please?

JJ never reveals any high level stuff so no need for the conspiracy theories there.

We are not even in July! If JJ says everything is going to plan then that makes me more than happy.

JJ is normally quite honest if he feels things are going wrong so I'm pleased enough with that.

jesus am I the only one who thinks Verts, Dier, Fazio & Wimmer with Velkjovic & CCV in back up is enough!?

I think the majority would share your view. Last year we mainly stuck with the four barring the one injury crisis where Kaboul and Chiriches got some game time. Also with Trippier signed Eric Dier will largely being staying central.

Back in the day with King, Woodgate and Kaboul (Even Tony Gardner) we did need plenty of CBs. Now 4-5 is probably enough. I assume Chiriches and Kaboul are long gone, so that leaves Verts, Fazio, Dier and Wimmer. 1 more is ok. Might be a bit much to have Milos as cover there (has he even settled on CB over DM yet?), and I'd never trust Stambouli.

That said we've had Hudd and Capoue playing CB in recent years so cover is always a plus.

5 would be doable but that means every week you are looking at 1-2 not even making the squad. Surely would only be worth doing if it was a starter though. Maybe Abdennour from Monaco? Looks a beast.

So JJ says one more CB. I make that three new players if we add a striker and a DM (which we've clearly been looking for) to the list.
