I disagree, Good back up to King Kane.

Proven prem goalscorer.

Hungry, never forgotten where he came from.

Who do you suggest we get?

Firstly, my major gripe is a huge huge personal dislike of him as a person.

Secondly, he came from a pretty wealthy family so I don't know what that has to do with it.

Thirdly, he's had one good season which was very impressive in terms of goals but not general play.

I wasn't suggesting anyone at this moment, although If you gave me 5 minutes I could probably put quite a list together of players i'd prefer- I was just expressing I dont want to have to try and cheer Austin.

Also, technically as a footballer he isnt and hasnt ever been that great, but he has always had a knack for scoring even when he 11 years old. Still, just don't like him.

Did he slip it to a girl you were with or something?

People always have that to say first haha. But no.

Many reasons. But probably not for this thread especially given as there has been no bleat from the goat..obviously... :cautious:

Damn, left and missed a bleat.

Was Charlie Austin a cabbage or something else? Not ideal but I'd take him as a backup to Kane, would contribute more goals than Juju-boy and Loldado combined. Looked a threat against even the big teams, although would be a goals only type of player. I'd be hoping for a young WF/ST type in addition to him if it happened however.

Feel for you man, would suck balls if someone I majorly disliked in my personal life ended up being paid a fortune to play for any PL side, let alone potentially my beloved Spurs

I'd take Austin. Great backup and proven goal scorer. Replace Ade with him - keep Bobby if no-one else suitable to bring in - that's a decent enough forward 3.

I'd rather we invest heavily so get real quality in the DM and WF position ITKs say we after.

We can actually do all this and cover most of cost with all the deadwood leaving. It really could be the best summer we've had for donkeys years.

He would have no interest in coming here and sitting on the bench

Plus he would not gel with Kane no way, we need a striker that can work with Kane, Austin is a throwback to the 80s

Austin's all round game is limited IMO. Yes he's lively in the box, can handle himself well and can finish well enough, but his movement is nothing special and nor is his link up play. I mean he's ok in those respects but he's taylor made for a side that's all about just playing to his strengths, basically look for Austin every opportunity in and around the box - as opposed to joining a team like us where he'd have a wider responsibility for how we play as a team.
