Yeah, but so do all Clubs who don't want to lose their best players. I'm sure they genuinely don't, but its always a negotiating tactic also.

I'd agree, but I also imagine that there's a certain date after which Everton would say 'not for sale' and mean it, as it would be too late in the window for them to guarantee a suitable replacement.

At this rate I'll be expecting Omar's Coming's Man Utd ratings thread by early tomorrow.

Definitely down with Berahino. If our informed decision is that he is pliable to maturing and working hard under Poch then he ticks a hell of a lot of boxes for what we are looking for.

He's also a rarity for someone with a good deal of raw talent, allied with some experience, that the hypothetical fee is most likely within what is realistic for us. Also in this day and age, potentially very reasonable value for what you are getting

If you started all this Man United talk, you've lost the right to post in here. If you took part in it, you've lost the right to post in here.

Some of you not for the first time. You know who you are. A third time will result in a ban from the entire ITK and Transfer Rumours Forums. For good.

Enough is enough. :(

It'll be interesting to see if our interest in players is dictated by what other teams need to do. For example, if we're interested in Berahino, maybe WBA will want to do a deal soon so that they've got time to find a replacement.

I never know how it works. They could equally say they don't want to sell until they have a replacement.

I think this is why so much gets done in the last few days of the window. Everyone is hovering trying to work out what to do and what everyone else is doing and then they all panic.

I think it's a combination of that, and the Levy-style of trying to keep them past the transfer window, only to panic and cave in late on (or refuse to let said player leave until you've replaced them).

Similarly, teams will have a primary and secondary target, so won't want to move too soon for a secondary (say, Hernandez) until they know the primary (say, Ibra) is a no-go.

They all panic bar Levy.

He probably gets up on deadline day sporting some serious wood.

Whilst I'm generally a supporter of Levy, I'm not sure I buy into this whole 'deadline day warrior' image that some have of him.

I think we've had more failures than successes on deadline day.

I think the first thing they do (WBA) is have a meeting with the players representatives. Find out how serious the enquiry is - as I'm sure the agents know about it before the club even. Sounded out. If the player is serious about moving then it's in the best interest of everyone to get it done I would have thought. Different situations though I'd guess.

Didn't mean it from that point of view, I just think he loves the haggling lol.

I'm sure he does.

But he certainly has his moments of panic. Frazier Campbell, Rasiak etc.

The most promising thing about this window is that we've got a lot of the nonsense out the door early, and we've got some great youth players meaning we shouldn't have to panic buy.

For example, whilst I don't want Onomah to be our first choice attacking midfielder, I'd rather we went with him than making a deadline day move for Matt Jarvis...which is the sort of thing I could have seen us doing previously.

Campbell was a consequence of Levy holding Man U off at the portcullis until last minute shenanigans whenupon he resolved the impasse by taking Campbell for Berbs.

Our whole approach to this window feels different. I think Levy realised he was going to have to make compromises regarding player valuations if we were to make progress on shaping the squad this summer.

The speed and efficiency in which we've done so to date is impressive. Previous windows would of seen Levy make the buying Club sweat all the way up to deadline day, or pretty close to it, before accepting a marginally improved offer. And we all know that strategy impacted on our incoming business - to an extent anyway.

It simply wasn't an option this summer with the amount of exits we had planned. We've been decisive and to me that suggests we're confident and have a clear plan.

I'm not expecting mega incoming's just a few of the obvious targets we've all discussed and been linked to/received ITK on.

To me its already shaping up to be a great window, when you consider the exciting youngsters and some of the more disruptive types being moved on which bodes well for squad harmony.

Given the ITK we've had so far, coupled with the various media links, I'd day we're looking at two from:

Njie, Werner, Beharino...and Moses bottom of the pile for deadline day scramble if we can't secure two from the first three options.

And McCarthy.
JJ said we weren't in for Moses didn't he? Please let me be remembering that right.
