BREAKING: Liverpool have finalised a deal with Barcelona for young starlet Adama Traore for €15m. [@DiMarzio]
Wow, that's quite a big singing for him, he is/was considered one of the big young stars coming through La Masia. I guess it must be his release fee, can't see why else they would sell him yet.

Via Hertyid on COYS:

I do hope he chooses to stay at RM...
It was going to happen sooner or later, I just hope that he decides to stick it out at RM for at least a few more seasons. Although even if he stays, I think he will eventually end up at Man Utd and when that happens It will be supper depressing.

People still actually think Bale will go United :banghead:

I've never seen a transfer denied so much, yet somehow the media can still get a story out of it.

What is this, the 3rd straight summer of United pinning their hopes on Bale? Christ, they're like the jaded lover who refuses to let go of their crush whose taken no matter how many times she rejects you, distances herself and throws you out of her life as far as possible:LOL:

That's good fella, get it all out. I'm sure she has no idea what she's missing.

If Van Gaal is after Bale, and perhaps has been encouraged by Bale's entourage, it would explain why he let Di Maria go. Because otherwise taking a £16m hit on the best wide player manure have seemed pretty inexplicable...
They are going for Pedro from Barcelona.

Bale going to Man Utd has always had an air of inevitability but would be heartbreaking anyway.

Not suprised Rafael has been sold but the price being reported is a bit strange (£2.5m), he is only 25 and goes to show how little they care about maximising returns.

Is it just me or has the BBC sports page increasingly become a Utd propaganda page.

Today they are leading with a 'man u are right club for stones' headline. In between willing a Utd purchase of Lloris or Bale.

this is Rio Ferdinand's worthless opinion. I was encouraged when he said going to Chelsea would be a bad idea, but then he says Man Utd would be better. Urghhhh. Obviously he'd say that. Just nonsense as always.

Have we ever had a season where so many above average - good players have moved to the premier league? Especially spread across all different clubs.

Going to make for a very interesting season IMO

I think it's great news for the league - the influx of TV money is really helping to share the wealth and attract players from other leagues who would previously have been cherry-picked off by just the top clubs.

Of course, it's not such good news for my poor, beloved Ligue 1, which hasn't got two pennies to rub together and has had an exodus of talent from there to here...

Anyone else find it a bit odd that, what was last seasons 'hot property', Ron Vlaar, hasn't signed for a club yet?

I know he's spent the summer helping kids in India, but the season starts soon and he can't have done much prep

I think he's out for a few months with a knee injury.

Said something similar the other day. The EPL is becoming Serie A of the 90's. And the new money has only just started kicking in, it's going to get even better players in the next few years.

France has long been the biggest exporter of footballers (in real terms it's Brazil but thats only because they send theirs all over the nether regions of South America) it's nothing new, just a slight change of destination of exodus maybe.
