I'm not all that impressed with United apart from their midfield. A lot of their defense and attack is still kind of a relative unknown. Mata and Rooney are quality when playing to their ability but I refuse to believe Ashley Young is suddenly a consistently good player and while Depay is a fantastic young talent I think time to settle is expected.

I also don't believe Smalling is a good player and Shaw/Darmian still have plenty to prove in my mind. And, they're starting Blind at CB. It's kind of a weird situation that I could see playing out like Liverpool last year when players they relied so heavily on the previous year can't maintain that needed form.

I hope I'm right but obviously could be massively wrong.

I also love all the fans complaining about having no backup striker for Kane going into this United game. Who is United's backup striker again?

With Chicharito out it's just young Wilson, isn't it?

Pointing to another side with the same glaring problem doesn't really justify the problem. It's a bad position for both clubs to be in, and we'll pay for it if we don't sort it out. Regardless of United's squad, if we are struggling to score goals, we don't have many options other than to try to grind our way out of it. That's not a great position to be in entering the season.

That's not the point, we all think a striker will be signed, it's just that some are complaining specifically about this United match.

Previous target and Poch player Hector Moreno signs for PSV.

Never saw that coming, thought a better team would be after him. That being said I personally really like the Eredivisie and watch it frequently so I'll keep an eye out for how he does.

I have to say I think its a good move for Stones, Terry is coming towards the end and Cahill has never seemed like his position is 100% secure. Stones & Zouma could well form a formidable partnership.

As formidable as the one that Stones has with Jagielka right this second? Seemingly not quite as done as was suggested...

Notice the question mark. Was genuinely wondering if it was still going ahead.
Ah, I see, thought you were being sassy in an attempt to attract Archie's 'gladiator' strap-on (yes, he names them...that one is particularly brutal...so I'm told...apparently, as he's jimmying it up your jackside he's been known to cry out "are you not entertained!!").

He really is a bad, bad man.

Anyway, in answer to your question, yes, Stones played today.
