The teams that compete each year, do the majority of their business prior the to the week leading up to the start of the season. We continuously let our business drag & drag on until the last day of the window & it's bloody annoying. I don't buy the whole we need to sell to buy crap either, we have money ffs.

If yesterdays game wasn't proof enough that we're in DESPERATE need of support for Kane & a defensive midfielder then you're blind or dumb. And you can stick your 'be patient' or 'there's another month of the window to go yet' replies firmly up your respective jacksy's.

It's a sorry situation, that we've got 4 days left before playing Man Utd and even if we do buy another striker, they will not have had any time training or getting to know the team or how we play. (n)

Understand th frustration, and from Pochettino's earlier comments of having a settled pre-season this is not ideal.

But I think being close to the top 4 means that we need to invest in players who will improve us but logically speaking we have good players already, those who took us to 5th last term so 'better' players will be pricey. And not having CL football and not having an unlimited wage structure severely restricts our ability to compete for top quality (let's call them Tier A) players.

So I guess we look at Tier A players towards the end of the TW who might come because no bigger clubs are in for them and their club are unlikely to get a better offer. Risky but could help us get a better calibre of player. And then Tier B players have already been sounded out as backup if the 'A's fail.

Or we could just sign a bunch of decent players who offer options to our existing players without actually necessarily improving us (Tier B).

Perhaps the likes of Berahino, Werner and Bender are thought of as in the 'B' category and whilst we may still be lucky to end up with them, we are trying for some bigger 'A' players.

Well...one of those things are true.

That's not even funny; it's just stupid.

A footballer - with a ropey reputation for getting contracts and then putting his feet up - wants a guarantee from a club that they will sign him after a loan, when he hasn't even pulled the shirt on or put one foot on the pitch in anger??

Yeah, perfectly reasonable.

@Archibald&Crooks Ok, that's the last I'll say on it.

If true, (and i am not defending him) then why did Levy sign him. A "reputation" good or bad follows and individual around. It's not as if Levy had landed from planet Gog as Chairman, and thought what a Linekeresque type of player we have the opportunity to sign now is it?

A contract works both ways and if the club were stupid enough not to see the player that is Ade, then the Board of Directors must take some responsibility for the decision to sign him.

Thank God we dodged a bullet with Ballotelli..............................

Not true at all.Liverpool, City, Man Utd, Chelsea have all assessed & addressed their needs going into this year. Besides that, this happens to us every year mate, every single bloody transfer window.
Another Diva just what this thread needs.
Transfers are complicated to say the least, but just ignore that and the ITK and throw your rattle out of the pram.
Judging by our result against RM in a preseason?
Are you joking?
Man City lost 4 2 after addressing there needs.
Calm down you never know we might get these signings you crave so much.

The only upside to "fan action" (which I assume means some sort of protest) is that it would be handy for no other reason than to see who it is we should eat first once the zombie apocalypse rolls round.

Fan action?!

Have a herbal tea mate and relax yourself. It's football.

To be fair Id rather have a zombie apocalypse if it makes it easier in thinning out our squad and rivals a little - especially as it legitimises us to help ; ) - "Ade .. We feel your not pulling your weight or bringing anything to the group ....."

We've had the most settled pre-season I ever remember
Poch has had a solid month or so working with his core of 22 or so key players. No unwanted players around. No transfer dramas like Berbs/Modric/Bale. Limited pointless public friendlies. The worse has been a couple of injuries brought in from internationals (Mason, Townsend and Pritchard).

Remember Poch doesn't actually like new signings. He's spoken several times before about how he prefers a maximum of 3 a year, otherwise they are too disruptive.

Yes, we'll probably get a few more new recruits in the last week of the window. But they will have to earn their place in the team via the EL anyway, so there's no reason to rush and end up with more instant deadwood.

Takes more than one side to agree to do a deal though. Just cause Spurs want to do deals early does mean the other club or the player or his agent does. Why not join the rest of us in the real world.

You being serious? For about the billionth time, the asset has a voice. If it wants to wait, then you're on its/his agenda. "Then we move on", what to someone who isn't good enough?

You literally can't win with some of you. You refuse to understand what is going on and continue to moan about it in any case. This is actually the frustrating thing; nothing else.

And Man Utd are desperate for a striker and Man City are desperate for club trained players (not much they can do about it apart from buying youngsters). All clubs are still looking for pieces for the puzzle. We are not alone.

Difference between having an opinion and an informed opinion.

So we should just accept that it's fine to wait for that perfect signing to happen on September 1st @11:52pm, 4 games into a season....? i happen to think that something is fundamentally wrong with our transfer policy if we always end up in the same boat year after year. And my vagina is now clear of sand, i washed it this morning thank you very much :sneaky:

I'm chilled, just frustrated. For once it would be nice having a positive feeling going into the start of a season. We get all these wonderful players names being banded about by our ITK whores, who are the genuinely the reason why i visit this site & am grateful to them, but where the they ? why haven't they signed already ?

Jesus wept, as i typed this i honestly just shuddered at the thought that Shaq Culthrist might be our substitute striker on the bench come Saturday.

I felt the same about having Kane as our substitute striker this time last year........................
