Agreed, but we're not asking for 100's of millions, maybe just 50m? Maybe just one window where we don't have to have a net in transfers

Even if they invested "just" 50 million, they would be looking for it back in a different window or Windows, so wouldn't be any point. We have invested in the training facility and for a new stadium to grow the clubs income with extra revenue and attract better Players with this income and the training facility.

Nice thought, but Joe Lewis is an investor - not a playboy who's bought a train-set to play with, like others on that list.

What's the point of owning a football club without some emotional involvement in it?

We all spend our hard earned money on the club with no return other than the enjoyment in watching the club. Shouldn't we expect the Chairman to do the same?

I'm playing a bit of devil's advocate but there is an argument that constant net spend shows a lack of passion for the club.

He put in £50m the summer before last.

I don't think he has to spend to show passion for the club, they clearly have a vision of what they want Tottenham to be and thus far have brought us a long way from when they took over. A training ground that has got football people talking and a new stadium.

A

Was that not a loan. And been taken back after the Bale sale?!

It was a loan converted to equity, in line with ffp. It was the maximum allowed under ffp.

Ambramovich hasn't given chelsea a penny, it is also considered a loan and stands at just under £1bn.

That really isn't how investment works. If he is here as an investor he isn't not going to just give the club £50m.

He could loan the club the money with a payment plan for it to be returned but I don't think that is really a good idea.

We are competing with the top 6, we're not doing that badly. In fact consistently better than we've been in my entire life.

We put money into the club without any financial return. For season ticket holders this can be a considerable portion of their yearly income. The only comeback we get is the enjoyment of watching the team do well.

Shouldn't we expect an owner to do the same?

No. You pay for a ticket to watch a game. Watching the game is your return. No-one forces you.

If the only way to get investors is by telling them they have to give in money with no return then my guess is we will lose a lot of investment.

That's a bit dramatic. Who said anything about no return? Won't they get the same enjoyment from seeing the team do well?
