I must really congratulate people on their (blind) optimism. Levy has left us short and or disappointed in most windows, we always seem to lack a crucial player that is glaringly obvious to most fans. I fully expect the same this year.

Clubs will not sell anyone they cant replace. So they will have to be completed by Monday.

Deals are not done overnight though. Although we didn't know of Son's possible arrival until maybe 36 hours before he came, the deal had been worked on for a number of days, probably 2 weeks, and the announcement was actuallt delayed until Leverkeusen finalised Son's replacement.

So if we are buying someone from Europe, they will have made sure they have the player place on Monday, even if the purchase isn't announced by/finalised by Spurs on Tuesday

I am rather neutral until Tuesday night, but I do congratulate you on your blind negativity.

I find the clamouring for a defensive midfielder slightly odd, we are shorter of creativity in my opinion.

Are we confusing defensive with someone who will pick the ball up from the defense and set the tempo?
I am thinking personally we need a Carrick type midfielder someone good at winning the ball back that can play a pass

I think it's going to be mixed. I can see us maybe getting a striker but no midfielder, or vice versa.

Striker is the absolute must do, no defensive midfielder would be disappointing, but to leave us with only one actual recognised striker with Kane already looking a bit jaded after little rest in the summer, would be horrifying.

We still have time!

A defensive midfielder is needed, and as well as Dier has played there he is not a midfielder and it would be unfair on him to play him out of position long term, but we are crying out for some creativity.

Mason has been creating chances and making runs, but he does get injured and I see that Yarmolenko is available for €12m. It would be a no brainier at that price. He creates so many chances for others as well as himself.

Didn't hurt ledley none ?
Does he still not hold the record for the fastest pl goal as well from playing there ?

He is a footballer he would much rather play cm/dm than watch from a nice bucket seat.

Also every c/h I have ever known is a frustrated CF; ) and I've known a lot ,chances are dier likes playing further up the pitch anyway

1993/94 - Sheringham only target man gets injured v Man Utd. We narrowly escaped getting relegated. It is ESSENTIAL we sign another striker.

I know what you are saying, but there will always be clubs that don't need to buy to replace as they are either willing to promote from the youth team or they'll have already bought a replacement.

When do they print the list of players who might move from German clubs? Is that on the final day (the Monday in this case)? I still have a feeling that we'll get someone else from Germany this window.

I don't even mind what level of striker, I'd be happy to take a punt on a championship striker such as Rhodes . We simply need ack up for Kane and someone to push and challenge Kane to keep his hunger and desire up
