Don't want him to go on loan at the moment because I don't think the squad can take losing any half creative midfielder. Having said that, I don't really understand where the love-in for him amongst some of our fans comes from?

Is it just because he's English? Been with us a while? Was voted the 8th best championship player last season? He was anonymous in his (admittedly very very short) cameo against Everton so why the faith that he could be the answer to the problems that should have been solved by the signing some more experienced creativity? Is it just because Kane came in and saved us last season as a young prospect?

Personally I hope he is fantastic and does inject the creativity we need into the middle of the park but I would be really reluctant to put too many eggs in such a young basket and I certainly wouldn't be talking about him pushing for Eriksen's spot at the moment...

Nah, he's better than Lamela. How many goals has Lamela scored in the Championship? Exactly.

why is eriksen seen as being untouchable? i really don't understand it and this is coming from someone who has always been a big fan of his. it seems to have gone unnoticed just how ineffective he currently is, one flukey goal in his last 20 games and has barely created a thing yet every week it's set in stone, eriksen plays number 10. i don't know why this is annoying me as much as it is, maybe because i know how good he can be or because poor fuckers like mason, bentaleb, chadli and even lamela take so much flak whilst eriksen just coasts along with barely a word said.

Сombination of all factors , mate. His successful last season created massive expectaions. He's seen as next bright thing from Spurs Academy.

Just very slightly less than he has scored in the premier league?

As un-quantifiable as it is, I would bet that if Lamela played in the Championship - he would absolutely smash it. I really like the look of Pritchard, but a load of posters on this site have their mouths wrapped around his nuts and it isn't warranted yet.

haha. we need eriksens goal threat. we need to also give this kid a chance to step up, first in the cups.

when these stories emerge we need to wonder who pllanted them and what motive??

qpr? his own agent, wanting spurs to put any such rumour to bed knowing ramsey has been on the blower and not turned down on the spot?

perhaps the prem loan suitors like norwich were not offering regular first eleven chances, meaning wed rather he sits on our bench than theirs.

im still calling bullshit on this, since the other option as rock put it more glibly is that they have fuk all else to write about and have seemingly given up waffling on about alli going on loan after his brightish start.

Pritchard pushing for Eriksens spot? I am not an Eriksen fan dude but this is magic mushrooms stuff :D

I know Eriksen's and important player for us and his set-pieces are generally very good, but I just think he has been largely ineffectual in games since the league cup final, and think (hope) competition from Pritchard will give him the kick up the arse needed to have more of an impact on games. But if he doesn't and Pritchard starts performing in cup games, I don't think it's that unthinkable that he could put pressure on Eriksen's spot. Having said that I don't think Poch would drop Eriksen regardless of form.

People have watched him since the next gen when he destroyed barcelona and inter milan.

Some will, but plenty of our fan base won't concern themselves with youth tournaments as can be seen by the u21 thread.

Yep they cry out for new signings when we have youngsters capable of doing a job, then cry that we never produce players.
The next gen showed that our youth of the time were some of the best in europe. We should have won it if we weren't disqualified on a technicality. We beat barcelona and smashed 6 shades of shit out of inter pritchard getting a hattrick. Give these boys a chance. Teams in other countries give their youngsters a chance don't see why we can't.

I went and watched the Barca game at WHL and he was by a long distance the most creative and interesting player on the pitch. I'm really pleased he has pushed on and genuinely believe Poch will give him his chances this season - we still have plenty of Cup games.

Why does it only take one shite headline from a rag like the Fail for some on here to go all doom and gloom? Are you waiting for headlines like this to justify the general Eyore vibe you have going?

I believe Pritchard's presence around the first team would serve as a kick up the arse for both Ericksen and Lamela to get their collective acts together. I do so hope he is NOT loaned out this season.

I think you mean Yreecksun... (y)

Am I the only one that read the first line of the article? We will let him leave on loan in January if he fails to make a first team impact. A couple of lines down it even clarifies that we will consider it, not that it will definitely happen.

What's unreasonable about that? I fancy he won't need to be loaned out as I think he'll do well for us this season but if he doesn't and others are playing well in his positions then we'd hardly be left short without him.

Some of you guys are never far away from a meltdown :D
