Emerson Royal insists Pedro Porro's arrival at Spurs has brought a 'GOOD fight' and 'healthy' competition at right-back

The arrival of Pedro Porro appears to have brought the best out of Emerson Royal who has produced two strong performances in big Tottenham games since they paid £45million for another right back on transfer deadline day.

'A healthy dispute,' says Royal. 'As we say in football, a good fight. I want to play. He's going to want to play too. The important thing is that we have players who are going to have this fight and the club does need that kind of players. We have some big competitions and we're going to need everybody.'

spot on. I think that porro eventually takes the job after Royals purple patch, but this is exactly why we need competition. Every player in the prem is there for a reason, they all have that ability in them. Sometimes they just need their job to be in serious jeopardy for them to dig down deep and pull that quality out, sometimes the players just don't have it in em to compete and they need to be moved on for someone that will. Hopefully we bring in some CBs to really push them on next
