Lets hope so.
I would now say to all our fans - we are still at the beginning of the journey and we must not get too carried away.
There will be many bumps along the way.

Well thats what I keep reminding myself.
I have a feeling this journey will have us in a better place in 2 years than the Beatles arrival 2 years ago did. Imagine, barring injury etc, what Alli and Dier etc will be like as players then? I do hope that we stick with Poch, assuming we don't nosedive etc. The number one thing that helps young players is consistency I think and playing in the same system with the same squad, minus the odd couple of shuffles that usually happen each window, will be an immense advantage going forward if we can manage it..

We must not overuse Alle or Son.

Agreed. I also think we no doubt have an out and out striker target for the Jan window in our sights. One not named Berahino. Not just to not send Harry to the glue factory early in his career but for competition. Harry needs someone to keep him on his toes. I hope he gets a goal soon and can settle down into his natural game again. He's playing well but just a little impatient. Understandably.

I 'now' see the whole picture after sundays game and 'a' Berahino type would be perfect for the team. Trouble is I can't see/think of many good strikers who would be in our bracket not at CL clubs.

Bet you there are more than a handful. Maybe not quite off the shelf ready to use but close enough and with room to grow. Over to our whizz-bang scouts I guess.

But yes, agreed on that kind of striker being necessary for the squad to be complete.

We're likely to go abroad if we can't get Berahino, which is looking unlikely now. The only other striker I'd say fits the bill in the BPL would be Vardy at Leicester, he has the same combo of pace, finishing ability, aggressive pressing and plays in every position upfront from centre-forward and both flanks, but the problem being his age (28) versus the likely fee Leicester would demand. Actually, I wonder if Ings doesn't get much game-time under Rodgers, or a new manager comes in at 'pool that doesn't rate him, whether we will take him off their hands. Ings would be perfect.

I think it's up to the scouting team and Poch to take a chance on someone, someone who hasn't developed into the CL bracket yet but they can see their potential.
Timo Werner was strongly linked he fits the profile, young, resale value, good potential.

This is where Mitchells' minions will earn their corn. I would have thought that the likes of Son were on many clubs shortlists. The clever part is spotting your Son's from among the many youtube attachment I dare say are clogging up many a scouts laptops.

We look to have learned a very expensive lesson when we bought the beatles.
It now looks like the Liverpool hierarchy missed that particular episode of Tottenham Hotspur - The Baldini Memorandum.

@SteveH Instead they've repeated it almost 3 times instead. It would be even funnier if that was money they didn't have.

Agree on Ings @Xeeleeyid . Would have been a tidy signing.

I'll have a look at Werner @Mullers. Must admit, not aware of him. No doubt our scouts have him and a dozen more and then a dozen more longer punts in their sights.

now that he's here and seen him play a couple games, I am optimistic for the future... future of Spurs' squad that is. he seems to have good vision and touch, shoots well and isn't a deer in the headlights.

I think we all like what we've seen so far. but these 2 games are really all I've ever seen of him, so let's get 4-6 games in before we get Son tattoos, right? :jimlad::mask::woot:

Indeed. What I like though, and is very encouraging for the squad itself going forward, but also indicative of his own qualities is that he seems to have an understanding with more players than just Dele. He does things the other players expect be it passing, movement or positioning. In just 2 games. He's playing like he was with us last season really. So I'm not going to start building that statue to him just yet but if this is as good as it gets then it's good enough for me. A versatile player who adds to the first team instantly.

Anything else is pure gravy.

Agent of Heung-Min Son admits player pushed for move when Tottenham showed interest

Heung-Min Son has impressed in his early time at Tottenham, and his agent has told Naver Sports that the attacker pushed through the move to North London when he heard that Spurs were interested in his services.

Thies Bliemeister said: “The last decision was made by us three, the player, the dad and me, but Heung-Min was the first person push through the issue. He said ‘Can I move to Tottenham? I trust [Mauricio] Pochettino and I want to play with him. I want to play for Spurs.’ I respected him. Tottenham is the best place for Son to start in the Premier League.”

Son arrived at Spurs towards the end of the transfer window, and has so far started his career in North London in impressive form. Although he struggled on his debut against Sunderland, he went on to score twice on his home debut in the Europa League, before following that up with another goal against Crystal Palace at the weekend.

This is the biggest reason why I am not anti-Poch. Admit it, we are no longer an attractive club few years ago. However, with Poch and his current reputation, we can still able to attract some players who are full of potential (even beating some clubs above us)

Yeah it's probably nothing, I'll rush out and get his name on my replica shirt ASAP
4 great lines from him saying how much he wanted to come and play for us and Poch, and just one(unless Son speaks about himself in 3rd person) where it's clearly his agent saying it is a starting point for him in the Prem.

'Tottenham is the best place to start in the premier league’

Bless

There would be very few players that would choose to stay at Spurs if they were getting offers from big CL teams. If Son ever gets that sort of attention it would mean he's done very well for us for at least one season. At least his agent isn't talking about specific teams such as Chelsea, like with that useless lump Chiriches.

Besides, it's been a long time since we sold a key player to a Prem team.
