Well, fair play to the Arsenal fan saying we're in the mix, especially in front of all the other Arsenal fans...
But we won't.

A title winning team takes the three points and ultimately all these draws from winning positions is what will cost us a genuine chance. Its nice to even be talking about it, but the season isn't even half way yet, so I am certainly not getting carried away over anything.

All being said, we are still 5 points off the top and thus remain one bad weekend away from being 8points adrift and so on. THis was our chance to close the gap and make teams really look over their shoulders. We didn't quite take it and despite the positives I really feel that this is an opportunity missed and by the looks of it, so do the players.

This.

We could go on a lengthy unbeaten run but it's no use unless we take 3 points rather than 1 from the majority of games. We still lack that killer instinct. It will come with time though, and as this team grow together we'll learn to kill teams off.

What dawned on me reading these comments from other fans and a bit of positivity for once is that we've not actually been outplayed by anyone. All season.

Not once have we gone away thinking we got the draw but were lucky not to lose, it's always we were unlucky not to win. Even against utd, we got the loss but deserved a draw I felt. We've been the better team in nearly every game we played, and that makes me proud.

Ironically Sunderland game was the one I think we barely deserved 1, let alone 3 pts.

Especially after them being the only team I feel we dominated home and away last season. Christ that means we're surely going to lose at the lane to them this season.

Spurs are a proud English club who promote English youth. They were unlucky not to beat Arsenal at the Emirates. They should finish top 4. Pibe has spoken. #pibe.

And people said Kane was a 1 season wonder... Hahaha. Those people are just jealous that their clubs don't produce talent like Kane and Dier. And Alli has the tools at Spurs to become world class. Pibe has spoken. #pibe.

what I fail to understand is Wenger mentioned they have 10 players in the treatment room, and the gooner fans are moaning about their injury list along with having a tough schedule

on physioroom.com they only have 7 listed

and their schedule = 3 games in 8days from Swansea to Bayern over 96hrs from finishing to starting the next fixture, from Bayern to us over 80hrs

we played 3 games in 6days with less than 72 hrs from Villa to Anderlect and less than 72hrs before playing them. no wonder we tired the last 15mins.

It takes a lot of balls to admit you were wrong. You were not the only one that called Kane a one season wonder on here. Nevertheless, it looks like he is finding form and Martial still have a long way to have a season as comparable as his last term.

Agreed, Kane would be a fantastic buy but if we do surely it would have to be the end of Rooney at OT. But with Roo's 300k/week contract what club would buy him?

The Kane Train is back on track!

I think he will continue to prove people wrong who scoff at him. Whether or not he will ever be a world class striker is yet to be seen but he is certainly more than an over - hyped kid who went on a purple patch of form, as some people are intent on pidgeon-holing him as.

I'm not sure what the doubters were watching, to be honest. Kane has a lot of the necessities needed to play well up top and a little drought was never going to change that.

I'd still like to see the club bring him in next summer.

I think they can play together and take turns dropping deep like Rooney and Martial have done in the last two matches. He certainly isn't out of place dropping deep and linking up the play. Plus he offers that aerial threat and hold up play that Fellaini offers us along with a whole lot more on top of that.

Marital is more talented then Kane. If we get Kane then we'd probably play Martial on the left (left of a front 3 could work brilliantly though). But then what do you do with Memphis? See if he develops as a right sided player? Or we just use a 4-4-2 type formation for most games with Kane and Martial up top, and in the tough games, switch to a 4-3-3 with Martial on a wing.

I have no doubt they could do well in a 442 together but ideally you want the side to become a 433 side like the majority of top teams in Europe. Martial has the potential to be the best number 9 in the world.. Kane is merely a top class premier league striker who I don't think has the ability that Martial potentially could get to.

I'd focus on strengthening other areas of the side rather than get ourselves into a difficult situation where we might have to drop a top striker for key games. It wouldn't be fair on either of them.

At first I thought we didn't need him at all but thinking about it, it makes sense. Martial can work well either as the lone man or with a partner, same with Kane. They can both take turns to drop deep and act as a 10, and in tough games, we switch to a 4-3-3 and put Martial on the wing as a wide forwrad where he's just as good as he is up top probably (just needs to improve his crossing really). Exactly. Two strikers can work when they're strikers like Kane and Martial. Both lads can hold it up, Martial can dribble, Kane has an eye for a pass and can knock one in from distance. What one lacks the other has in abundance and if we're looking for a couple of attackers I'd be looking to Kane as one of them.

It's just typical of them. An excuse, a whinge, an excuse, a whinge, an excuse ....... it started with Wenger all them years ago and seems to be the mindset from manager to fans now. We have been showing them a thing or two about preparation since poch came in, which if they weren't too arrogant to realise would likely help them lift the prem trophy.

Also a fair bit of love for Pochettino

  1. Yea perhaps. Tottenham was perhaps an ideal managerial position for him. The gap between Southampton and Tottenham is not as huge as the gap between Manchester United and Southampton. Perhaps, if he continues to impress, he may take over lvg and bring Kane with him .

He should stay at Spurs until he feels he's taken them as far as he can rather than as soon as a big club comes calling. He's building a very competitive team in the right way.

Yesterday FB was very quiet in regards to the Goons getting their draw. Today they seem to be out in force moaning about injuries and us bringing out a dvd. Obviously it's taken them just over 24hrs to find a retort to how flimsy they looked.
Sometimes they are quite embarrassing. If we are shit, how comes the just about got a point off us in their back yard.

I'd say it's a natural reaction to being scared. They are looking over their shoulders as they weren't expecting us to be so strong. Since the start of the season my cousin has been giving it the "one season wonder" Kane, after the game yesterday, silence. They are definitely concerned.

TBH i think its been like that the last 5 years. When they were steam rolling everyone during the Henry Era, we hardly got a mention as we were not that great. They saw Man U, Liverpool and Chelsea as their games of the season. Now all they do is go on about us day in day out. Def signs of being scared.

Was snooping around on Redcafe this morning and found this:

"If Poch has sorted out the mentality of this Spurs side, they're in with a good chance. Every time I think to myself I want Spurs to finish 4th, I see Glaston post and I think Feck that and pray for Leicester or West Ham."

I find it astonishing that football fans fall for the spin that clubs and media put out. And then repeat it to anyone within earshot. It's like they are incapable of reaching a conclusion by themselves. That solicitors guy after the Chelsea Liverpool game who spoke about the Conspiracy against Chelsea, these Arsenal fans who talk about fatigue, Man Utd fans who think Martial is the best player in the world because they paid so much money for him and Liverpool fans full stop. Don't get me wrong, we're just as bad.
