This goon at work came out with all the excuses this morning.

They were better
We only had 3 shots
It was their 2nd team

etc etc etc
I trust that you took the nearest biro and stuck it in his carotid about 60 times in 3 seconds, leaving him bleeding out on the floor?

Any other response would have been inappropriate.

Well pele is like 70 now but we are not talking about now. Pele is one of the best, if not the best, player of all time. Kane wont reach those heights

Kane is already past pele's height. He was only 1.73m and kane is 1.88m

If our youngsters are as good as we are starting to think they may be then we'll make the Champions League this season. If we reach the Champions League then none of our young stars will be looking to leave. One of the advantages of having so many English youngsters is that, due to the money in the EPL and the fact they have their families here, its unlikely any English players are going to go overseas except for Real Madrid or Barca (and none of our players are at that level imo). If we're in the Champions League then none of our players will be looking to jump to Old Trafford (because they don't look like challenging for trophies under LVG) and we won't deal with Arsenal or Chelsea, so that leaves Man City as the only credible suitor for any of our players.
Substitute the word youngsters for players and we've been her before. what if they play really well but we fall just short? We know exactly what happens then. Shit, we could reach the champions league and then fall agonisingly short again quickly after that and that still wouldn't prevent the sharks circling. Again, something we have experienced in the not so distant past.

I'd love if this group gelled quickly and managed to establish us in the top 4 but the stadium and its revenue is the thing that will secure us "player loyalty" longer term.

that a grown man feels a need to do this is truly depressing.

I've got to see a Gooner tonight, the guy is massive deal lawyer who I respect immensely but when it comes to football he makes me was to pick up dog shit with my barehands and wipe it over his pristine white Eames recliner.
