I'd like to see him played in the midfield two....too. I can see why he's played behind Kane though. It's because he's so good at using his energy to pressurise the opposition centre back and also making runs beyond Kane. Sometimes it looks like he's playing up top with Kane.
It is true that Alli being there is not without its advantages, but I think Alli struggles to get into the game without making those runs while in advanced positions. On either side of him, there just isn't enough sheering movement to open up space for him while he's in tight areas, and he doesn't have the agility to get himself out of tight spaces unless he has a bit of momentum. He isn't the best passer in the team, hence why I think Poch prefers other options deeper back, but I think Alli in the AM3 for large amounts of time causes us to essentially be playing a man down where we should have another string puller to compensate for a lack of balance.

When he has space, as he did after the Chadli sub (my props to Poch for getting it very much right this time), he looked much more effective in creating. He also was able to make incisive runs from deep anyway, so IMO I think this negates the advantage of him being advanced somewhat. Great player, a brilliant player, but just does not belong in the AM3 for me.

Man U fans piping up saying they should get Poch, Kane and Alli in the summer. Fuck off, your not the club you used to be and we ain't your feeder club any more so suck a fat one. Would be really surprised if Poch went there.

I've still got a big smile on my face after that game. It was depressing at half-time to be losing after being the much better team, but what a turn around! The cherry on top was United losing.

The players should get a bit of a decent rest now too, what with our 2nd team likely to face Colchester.

I thought all three of our goals were great, but obviously Alli's was something special. Had the same 'what did I just see?' expression on my face as I did when Lamela scored his Rabona. I'd be bowled over by that goal regardless of who scored it, but for it to be one of our own players, in those circumstances, just makes it even better!

I don't think your post really belonged in that compilation, because I know how you generally think about football and because yours was a tactical comment, not a rant, but perhaps its inclusion is bending your reaction a bit out of shape.

What is wrong with "shaming" people (I would use the word "mocking") for behaving like intemperate idiots? There's a semi-consensus on here that posting abusive rubbish in the heat of the match is OK, but I don't agree. It's stupid, it's obnoxious, it's bad behaviour, it's a good way to leave hostages to fortune and, worst of all, it's inaccurate, because it represents a sense of reality that has been distorted by rage.

Just as I consider it acceptable to be disrespectful of religious people's "beliefs" (although not of the people themselves), I think it's acceptable to mock people for posting angry rubbish in the heat of a match. If they don't want to be held to account later for acting like dicks and to have the piss taken, then they are free to control themselves and STFU ;).

My sentiments exactly

Hopefully, the conversation on MOTD goes something like this...

Gary: Spurs have got some great young English talent, Tim.
Tim: Yeah, Gary. It's not always been like that at Spurs, but as you know, I've always supported young English players.
Gary: And of the 12 players you've bought in your career, Tim, how many were English?
Tim: Err...
Gary: It's 4 Tim, isn't it? And how many were in their teens like Alli?
Tim: Err..
Gary: None. In fact what's the age of the youngest English player you've ever bought?
Tim: Err, 20, 21?
Gary: No, it's 26. The other three were 27, 31 and 33.
Tim: Shall I get my gilet on the way out?
Gary: If you could. And send Jermaine in if you see him, there's a good lad.

My dad has said that if we win our next two league games then we will finish in the top two.

He needs to cut down on his drinking.
