City were hanging on against Sunderland.

I really am not dreading going away to them like I would in previous seasons. Don't get me wrong they're capable of ripping any side apart when they're in the mood but that fragile defense makes them vulnerable and its affecting their confidence as a side, no doubt about it.

I think we've a real chance heading up there.
The thing is @Mr Pink for some reason I think we will do better against them than Watford, especially as I saw the way they [Watford] impressively contained Chelsea today. I think whilst we may beat Man City we may not be as fortunate against Watford. Hope I am wrong

Would anyone be disappointed with finishing 4th now that we are where we are?
I mean it depends, if Arsenal, City or Man Utd put together a consistent run of form that we can't match then fair enough. If we don't finish above Leicester then this to me is definitely failure. As Glenn Hoddle said we may never have a better chance to win the league. Chelsea and Liverpool are not in the running and the other 3 sky 4 are inconsistent. Leicester's run has turned everything upside down and will have far reaching repercussions no matter where they finish now. Coaches who have more resources at their disposal are going to be expected by chairman and fans to match their good run of form.

Don't be, they're shite
In the 2005 CL, I thought they would lose to Juventus, they won.
I thought they would lose to Chelsea in the semis, they won.
I was watching the final in the pub with some mates who are Liverpool fans. At 3-0 I was laughing my head off and thinking they would get beat 5 or 6-0 maybe even more, the rest is history. They are in one final already, don't underestimate the momentum that they will get if they win that.

Even Liverpool fans think their own team are shite, absolutely no idea why you think they're capable of putting a run together.

I think they are shite as well but they were as well under Dalglish and they ended up winning a cup. I'm just saying there is a possibility that they might be a lucky cup side this year.

We are 16 points up on Champions Chelsea. I must be in some parallel universe in which unexplainable events occur. If someone said that before the season began, I'd have thought mental.
I agree.

Also, At the start of the season if someone said the following I would be certain they had some form of brain damage:

"On February 4th Spurs would be 16 points ahead of Chelsea, but 5 points behind Leicester"

To make 70 points, which is generally enough for top 4 and will likely be more than enough this year - I think 65-67 is likely to be the cut off - the teams below need the following Points Per Game.

Leicester
Need 1.42 PPG
Current PPG: 2.08

City
Need 1.64 PPG
Curent PPG: 1.96

Tottenham/ Arsenal
Need 1.78 PPG
Current PPG: 1.88

Man Utd
Need 2.14 PPG (For reference Leicester are only on 2.08)
Current PPG: 1.66

West Ham
Need 2.21 PPG
Current PPG: 1.63

Liverpool/ Saints
Need 2.57 PPG
Current: 1.41

Going to just add Chelsea because there's a myth that they are actually a challenge to the top four
Need 2.92 PPG. For reference, this rate of points would put you on 111 points in a 38 game season
Current 1.21

7 wins out of our last 14 will put us on 66. I think that would be enough to get us top four, Man Utd need to pick up points at a similar rate to what we have already just to make 66 points(1.86 PPG). We should be nailed on for top 4 bar any spectacular collapse which is unlikely for a team thats only lost 3 in 24. I'm shocked that people are still concerned with us blowing 4th place when there's so much more on offer, especially when we look to be getting stronger and winning more matches recently than we did earlier in the season drawing too many. Arsenal are struggling recently, we don't know how City are going to react with the Pellegrini/ Pep announcement and Leicester, well they keep proving everyone wrong so I'm gunna test that theory and go with that they are going to win every game and win the league.

if we get 6 points from the next two games then I think the title is very much on and we'd probably be sitting top of the Premier League with wins against Watford and City and only 12 games to go.

This theory may work, only when we don't lose to rivals. But regardless, we are in a very good position to qualify for top4, given our superior goal difference. Thats a extra point in itself.

Half a point. Goal difference is never a full point. :oldman: )(Since a team with 1 full actual point more inevitably will be ahead of the next team, regardless of goal difference).

I'd say at this point, we are probably looking at 70%+ chance of finishing top 4. Since it's Spurs we are talking about, that's really slim odds. :nailbiting:

Has to be a draw or Leicester loss I'm torn to be honest I'm swaying towards a Leicester loss as I just want them off top spot as I think it will have a bit of a psychological effect on them hopefully a really physical draining match as well.
If Leicester beat city we are in trouble when we play them as they will be double determined

Good post.
Our current form - 16 points in 7 - the form that has put us 3rd - could win the league.

2.286 points a game extended to the end of the season would give us another 32 points and a total of 77 points.
Leicester, on the form of their last 7 will get another 24 points - total 74.
Manc, on their last 7 will get another 30 points - total 77.
We win the league on GD!

Closer inspection shows of the the last 7 games, we played 2 newly promoted sides, a side in the relegation zone and palace who are on a terrible run of form. April fixtures are a little different.

I think we can get 70 points though, which is a reasonably strong total for 4th place this season.

Ideally City to beat Leicester and lose their next game and Leicester lose 2 on the bounce.
If we beat Watford there'll then be a 3 way tie at the top and depending on goal difference being as is, we would be top.

Isn't it odd that we do/have finished above every team in the premier league except arsenal.

I would want leicester to win both their next 2 games and then start to decline when the pressure is really on as I can't see the scum and city losing many more points
