He'll be lucky to get his place back the way Wimmer has stepped up.
Be great to have him back again as another option alongside CCV.

Perhaps if we have three solid centre backs we will rotate permutations of two. Verts is clearly much more of a first-choice option than CCV!

First choices are irrelevant. We need rotation options, especially if we stay in the cups.

I'm sure Wimmer will be happy enough if he is helping us progress. Everyone has a part to play.

depending on Wimmers next few outings, and assuming he keeps up his current form it is going to be VERY interesting to see how this comeback pans out

loved reading this bit

“I’m aiming to be back around the international break and I want to be part of the team and help however I can.
“The lads support me a lot – they come and see me every day as well as the staff. I know I’m around the best people. The lads and the gaffer do everything to give me the feeling that I’m part of this team all the time.”

longer than I was hoping. If Toby or Wimmer get injured then Dier back to CH upsets the balance of midfield.

Bentaleb in the midfield and Dier in the back-four. Not ideal, as Dier has been excellent as DMC, but I think we have it covered. In fact I reckon we will see excatly that in one of the next two or three games.

I can't wait to get the best pairing in the league back together!

Still not worrying until then though, because we have the second best pairing in the league too!

I'm wondering if Bentaleb at CB is something worth trying in cup games till Jan comes back. I know CCV is highly rated but he doesn't seem tall enough to me. Anyone know what his height is? He looks 5.11 - 6ft to me and you really need to be around 6.2 to be a CB.

1.86 metres (6 ft 1 inch) according to Transfermart.

We have a first choice squad at last. It'll kick into overdrive properly next season. Keeps everyone fresh by giving everyone a game off every few weeks, increases competition and ensure nobody goes stale or rusty.

Never seen CCV play, but I think Bentaleb at CB could be a disaster personally. He's not aware enough defensively to be trusted there imo.

Not sure the height matters as much nowadays as long as 1 of the pairing is. There aren't as many teams playing with 2 men up front that are 6 foot +. Well Watford do, who else?
People that have seen CCV talk of him as mobile which I think is as important these days. Remember Fazio:eek:
