Fuck me this thread is depressing, imagine if SC was around those times, Lord have Mercy!

Anyway some memories:

Paul Walsh ripping us to bits at Maine Road

Muzzy Izzet top corner in the last minute.

Heskey destroying our defence at WHL

Hamilton Ricard hat trick for Boro

Mark Stein last min penalty at SB (I cried after that match)

Marcus Stewart destroying us at Portman Road

Chris Armstrong losing all confidence because the fans kept having a pop at him.

Stuart Nethercott
Paolo Tremazzani
Ramon Vegas
Vinny Samways

Etc...

Alongside the memories already mentioned in the thread there are two 90's moments (good and bad) that always sing out to me as I was at both games -

The brilliant FA Cup QF victory at Anfield (try to forget what happened in the semi where Daniel Amocatchi inexplicabley became Pele for 45 minutes or so)

The worst night of the decade for me, and I have told this story before on another thread so apologies for repetition, was the League Cup midweek 3-0 loss at Notts County. Gary McSwegan bagged a hattrick, someone ran out of our end and squared up to Ian Walker, Dumitrescu literally stood in the centre circle with his hands inside his shirt sleeves all game, and Ardiles got sacked the very next day

:(

Oh Lordy...its the 90s . A lot of the horror is already covered here .

The wild change of course between Ossie and Francis .Traumatised Sugar announcing famously ' No more Carlos kickaballs' at exactly the moment foreign players were starting to be really successful in the Prem .

Mebbe the ugliest part of the SoS (save our spurs) organisation's campaign vs Sugar was just after the turn of the century so we'll leave that out. The forlorn cry 'We want our Tottenham back' . We simply didn't recognise our club simple as that .Difficult in these sunny times to adequately describe the turmoil back then .

When Francis was eventually sacked and made his final statement he said Spurs fans were a deluded lot .He went on to recall the craziest fan moment of all . He was driving home listening to Alan Mullery's radio show . Spurs were third (briefly) and a 'complete idiot' fan came on to complain about the (turgid long-ball )football Spurs were playing .

That complete idiot is writing this ...:D

There were some good moments though. Darren Anderton's goal against Leeds, the 4-1 home win against Man Utd, closing the decade with a league cup. All of Klinsmann and Ginola. My first trip to WHL was in 1994/5 when we beat Newcastle 4-2, with Teddy getting a hat-trick.

Still... hard not to cringe when remembering Christian Gross and him waving that tube ticket in the air...

I was 11 when we won the FA Cup in 1991, I'd been a Spurs fan for 4 years at that point... it was amazing, the team was full of boyhood heroes like Lineker, Gazza, Mabbs, Allen, Big Erik. Little did I know that I would then spend the rest of my teens being progressively disappointed... If it wasn't for players like Teddy, Anderton and of course Daveed, I think I may have just sacked it off and stuck with Scunny Utd.

Not the 90s but I remember this

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/1567733.stm

Remember betting a man u fan at work that we would turn them over. Got home after playing in a football tournament to see us 3 nil up at half time. Went upstairs already spending the 20 quid in my head down the pub later on. One long soak in the bath and one lighter wallet 45 mins later!

Was there - week before my first born.

Where does time go !

My 1st spurs game was Klinsmann's debut. I was 10 & a full kit wanker in with the Wednesday fans.

Doing the Klinsmann dive whenever I scored a goal for my school.......even in the summer.

Pony!

Chris Armstrong
Ruel Fox
Stefan Iversen
Man United winning everything
Everybody supporting them.

Me always thinking we just needed one or 2 players to be great when we needed 10

Being Ginola on the playground and never passing the ball

The 4-2 FA Cup quarter final win at Maine Road was a mad mad day.

Nayim's hatrick
Police horses on the pitch
Teddy missing a penalty on purpose
Terry Phelan's goal
Parking the coaches behind the Kippax...

There were some good times in the 90's

Did teddy really miss it on purpose? I have no recollection of this at all. Would have been really young at the time though

We signed Ruel Fox for the same price as Zola.

Sums up our 90's!!

I remember seeing him in his Spurs tracksuit at Liverpool St station in 1998. I believe he was catching a train to East Anglia as he was banned from driving.

I thought he did at the time and still do. If you ever see a replay of it, he placed it and it went precisely where he wanted it to go, close but just wide. The ref had a word with him just before he took it. There were only a couple of minutes to go and the city fans would have been on the pitch again if he'd scored no doubt

I remember when we signed obscure or rubbish players like Gerard McMahon, Andy Gray (not the Scottish one) and Keith Scott. And lots of home grown players who barely played any matches for us e.g. Steve Slade, Jeff Minton, Paul McVeigh, Garry Brady, Rory Allen & Neale Fenn

Scott Houghton's two goals v Luton Town in 1992 was a highlight.

I remember the game, but couldn't remember him deliberately missing so I looked up an old article. Sounds like you're correct:

"After the police had done their work, and play was resumed, the referee risked further protest by awarding Spurs a penalty, for Michael Vonk's foul on Andy Turner. Sheringham had the good sense to miss it, and the tie finished without further incident."

I've blanked most of it out. Well, either that or the dementia has finally done me a solid.

The 80's were where it was at and it all started to go tits for us when Pleat went looking for business up Stamford Hill. I reckon some of the chanting that went on as a matter of routine (especially the United one) would have pretty much all todays younger fans astonished.

Go on....
